Mule Malu Tropical Stay

In the pictures looks like a spacious place and is not...there is not so much privacy and the staff is not friendly and professional, i find the attitude arrogant and not educated at all with their clients. I have been in others places and i had better experience for a better price.

Supermooie locatie en een oase van rust. Hele mooie kamers met klamboe boven je bed. Prachtige buitenbadkamer met heerlijke regendouche. Ontzettend attent en buitengewoon vriendelijk, behulpzaam personeel. In de directe omgeving van het hotel bruist het van alle kanten: veel horeca-gelegenheden en winkels. Het is een must om een scooter te huren en dit kan heel gemakkelijk bij het hotel. Of gebruik de apps van Grab en Gojek en je bent in no time op de plaats van bestemming. Zodra je bij de uitgang van het hotel komt, ben je op een zeer drukke weg en dan is het oppassen geblazen om langs te lopen. Werkelijk, zonder ook maar enige twijfel het mooiste hotel tot nu toe tijdens onze Bali-trip.

I booked a last-minute solo trip to Bali to unwind and decided to stay in Uluwatu for something new. My main priorities were proximity to a gym, yoga studio, cafes, and shops. Mule Malu exceeded all my expectations! The property is conveniently located—just a 10-minute stroll to Bingin Beach—and the staff make all the difference. Their attentive service, coupled with the effort to know you by name, made my stay feel extra special. If you’re planning a trip to Uluwatu, look no further than Mule Malu. It’s everything you need and more!

We had such an enjoyable stay at Mule Malu - a real calm little haven in the centre of a busy part of Uluwatu - this is a great location 10 min walk from Bingin beach and lots of restaurants and shops. We picked this place over other larger commercial hotels in Uluwatu for a more authentic Bali feel and we weren’t disappointed! We couldn’t fault the staff who were genuinely so friendly, kind and helpful. Shout out to Novi who was a total sweetheart. The food was amazing and the the pool area is beautiful. Our room was lovely and the outdoor shower was too. We both had massages whilst there which were excellent. One point for improvement the bed was a little hard - if you could rectify this then this hotel would be literally perfect. The room also had a bit of a funny smell when we arrived (although the latter was rectified immediately when we told staff). Thank you so much for an excellent stay, we hope to come back in the future 🤍🌸

Truly a Hidden paradise, you get hit by a feeling off relaxation as soon as you arrive. Our only regret was that we didn't stay longer. Such an lovely place and the staff was warm, helpful and welcoming. Would highly recommend this place to anyone 😊

Great facilities and location however my mattress was infested with bedbugs. I showed the management small dots of blood on my sheets and bites on my legs that were incredibly red (not like a mosquito) after I woke up in the morning. I even sent them a website which gave detailed information about bedbugs, and I explained they can be brought in by backpackers/other guests, as I've experienced these exact kind of bites while travelling before. Unfortunately they didn't seem receptive to me and tried to claim the bugs in Bali are 'different', and just changed my sheets and added a soft mattress topper (which will do exactly nothing about the bedbugs that live in the mattress). When there was small dots of blood on my sheet and more bites the next day, I informed them again that it was bed bugs and they changed my sheets again and seemed to think a $10 free breakfast (which they would not let me swap for my $10 bill at the bar) made up for an infested, unhygienic mattress and receiving itchy, sore bites - all when I was paying $170 per night. After sending a 2nd formal complaint email, they offered to change one of the mattresses (it was two single beds on a double bed base) which again, would not address the bedbug issue in any way. They did not offer to change my room, offer me a refund for my remaining night or even to put me up in a different hotel for the last day. I slept my last night on the single mattress on top of a double bed base which was not what I paid for with my room but better than more bites I guess. Unfortunately due to how difficult it was to address the issue and the lack of customer service policies, I cannot recommend this accommodation and will not be staying here again. FYI I speak fluent Indonesian and communicated everhthing extremely clearly, it just wasn't dealt with well.
