Mu Bungalows

I stayed 2 nights at Mu last week. This review is not related to the property but rather on how my complaint was ignored by the Manager,Mr Freddy. As per normal on night 1 when i retired to bed I had removed my necklace ( as I do everynite). and placed it on the writing desk. The next morning (Day 2) I left straight for breakfast and then left for the beach. At the beach I realised i have not put my necklace on but didnt worry too much as I assumed I would find it back in the Bungalow. When I returned and found it missing ( esp after looking around) I reported to Ms. Endang at reception. She promptly summoned the 2 house keepers who had cleaned my room and together we did another thorough search to no avail. Endang said the staff are trust worthy and all found items are always reported. Obviously theres nothing I could do. I could not accuse anyone of theft nor could I proof I had left it there. It was them versus me and I knew it was a lost cause. The necklace wasnt expensive but it had intrinsic value to me. On Day 3 morning just before I checked out I asked to see the Manager (Freddy) but was told h wasnt in. I then asked for his contact number or email but reception was not at liberty to divulge - which I also understand. So i requested that Freddy calls me as I wanted him to hear from me first hand about the missing necklace. I did not hear from the Manager for 2 days so i enquired again and was told that he had asked reception to tell me to email them and for them to forward my complaint to him. Quite a round about way in handling an unhappy guest. I then sent Freddy a whatsapp ( via reception) note expressing disappointment for his lack of response. He still hasnt made contact. My point is MU Management / Manager - specifically Freddy takes NO INTEREST in addressing customers complaints and has no managerial courage to face customers . Let this be a cautionary tale to be extra careful when leaving things in MU Bungalows because the onus rest with the guests and the Manager is happy to let matters disappear by not addressing them. I ordered some food, and one of them was a delicious cheesecake, but unfortunately, there was plastic inside when I ate it. We reported it to the staff, but there was no response and no apology. It was a bit disappointing compared to the last experience. But overall, the view is the best!

We enjoyed 3 nights at Mu, staying in Melati bungalow which we found to be nice and private although light sleepers I would recommend bring earplugs as it’s near the reception - we loved the natural materials used and rustic but spotless bathroom, bedroom and outdoor lounge. Shower pressure isn’t 5 star but it’s a rustic bungalow so this is to be expected! The gardens, restaurant area and view are beautiful overlooking the sea. We pretty much stuck to the resort the whole time relaxing, even though you can walk down to Bingin Beach in about 10 minutes for an alternative bbq fish dinner (the beach itself isn’t that nice). Food at the restaurant fairly plain and simple but fresh and healthy. Would recommend

We had a wonderful three days at Mu Bungalows. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, both in general and with arranging specific requests for us (scooter rentals, surfing lessons, last-minute spa treatments). A few specifics: - We stayed in Tenggiri for one night: it was quite a nice self-contained unit with a separate kitchen and outdoor living area (bedroom was indoors with A/C). It's next to the entrance so you can hear people coming and going a bit, but it wasn't really disruptive. There's no sea view from this one. - We stayed in Cliff for two nights: it was spectacular. Very private, with two outdoor seating areas and a separate bathroom. The only thing to note is that there is a club somewhere along the coastline that plays loud music until about 11pm. My partner couldn't really hear it over the waves, but I could (I have sensitive hearing) - especially the bass - so I had to fall asleep with earplugs in. - I had three spa treatments, all excellent. Well worth booking! - The food at the restaurant is decent, but there are also some great places within a 5-10 minute walk if you want variety. We liked Seed (5 min walk) and Cashew Tree (10 min walk). - The monkeys can be a bit of a nuisance. The first day, I went into the pool and left my beach bag unattended. Within a minute, a monkey was picking his way through it. I ran out of the pool screaming (making quite the spectacle of myself) and scared him away before he took anything, but later I saw him steal someone else's goggles. Keep everything tucked away / locked up! Thank you to everyone at Mu Bungalow for a great stay!!

As nearly everywhere in Bali, the people have been super super friendly. The room was nice and typical Balinese. Shampoo/conditioner & shower gel included. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this place. Specially the views, pool and breakfast. As well as the daily yoga sessions on the shala. Definitely a recommendation to single travelers and couples.

We stayed at Mu as a last minute change to our accommodation plans. The team were accommodating and very hospitable from Go. And what a view! But the view doesn’t do everything. The team there were marvellous with their hospitality. A ‘can do’ attitude at every turn. The pool, the nightly barbecue - the aromatic smoke which induces you to stay and have dinner whilst the sun sets is incredible. Jerome has fine tuned a wonderful team and I could not recommend the resort more highly.
