The Fox Den is a 1-bedroom 1-bathroom cabin nestled away in the high alpine mountains at 11,200 ft on 1.17acres of land on a quiet dead end dirt road. Once there, you will have many opportunities to view wildlife (moose, fox, elk, deer or even a bear) . The cabin is cozy and warm with great views, a fully equipped kitchen with great tasting well water and a comfortable living room. It also has a deck with great views, and a grill for all of your outdoor cooking pleasures. The Fox Den has close access to many 14ers, hiking, skiing, biking, fishing, gold panning, 4 wheeling, golf or just about any outdoor activity you may be interested in during any season.The town of Breckenridge and ski area are located 30 minutes north with all the amenities that a world class ski town has to offer. Such as restaurants, bars, shops, grocery store ect... The town of Fairplay is located about 10 minutes south and offers restaurants, bars, shops, grocery store ect… The town of Alma is also located about 5 minutes south and has a well stocked country store, restaurant/bar, and liquor store.All these towns have great history with museums, great vistas and many outdoor activities in sunny Colorado. Other things to note**** The Fox Den is located up a dirt road with many switch backs. You will need 4wd with snow tires and possibly chains to get tao the cabin October through May. We have a Pack-n-Play, baby gate, baby bathtub, bouncer, high chair, and sound baby monitor for your use. ~ Don't worry, we didn't forget about your fur baby. Dogs are welcome for an additional $100 pet fee (2 dog limit). This is put toward the extra time it takes our cleaner to get all hairs and messes even the most clean, well-behaved dogs leave, along with the longer term care we need to keep our house immaculate! A dog bed, food/water bowls, baggies and some dog toys are provided for your convenience.~ We are in rural Colorado, and while having the highest speed internet choice, it could be spotty at times.~ No AC - but thankfully you're in the Rocky Mountains! Although most people are not effected, some may feel the effects of the altitude. Just off of Highway 9, the main artery in the area connecting you to Breckenridge and beyond, you are 20 minutes from Montgomery Reservoir and a mere 33 minutes from Breckenridge, with its well-known ski resort and Main Street. The inside is newly remodeled giving you that modern, but yet rustic feel. AC in the summer, and direct heat in the winter will sure add to your comfort level.The Space:The cabin has 2 bedrooms, one on the main level and an upstairs loft bedroom. Both bedrooms have a king size bed for your comfort. The front deck has a great seating area with a propane grill. There is an additional patio amongst the trees with the hot tub and fire pit - so cozy!Guest accessWith the exception of the garage, you will have access to the entire cabin and 2 acre property!The Area:-19 miles to Fairplay for groceries and a great selection of restaurants.-40 miles to Breckenridge for world class skiing. Skip all the I-70 traffic! -18 miles to Kenosha Pass - it is one of the best places to view the gorgeous changing aspen leaves in the fall!-13 miles to Tarryall Reservoir for fishing and hiking. -There are also some activities offered at local ranches such as horseback riding and ATV tours.Amenities:-Hot Tub - enjoy your evenings relaxing in the hot tub under the stars (Guests use the hot tub at their own risk. Please shower before entering the hot tub in order to prevent soiling the water. The hot tub gets serviced professionally every Wednesday.)-Fire pit - enjoy a glass of wine by the fire. It is a propane fire pit, so no wood is needed.-BBQ Grill - there is a propane grill perfect for grilling out on the deck with a gorgeous view.-Games - we have a selection of games for your entertainment.Other things to note:The stairs up to the loft are very steep. Please be very careful.The property, in general, isn't suitable for young children and there aren’t any children’s amenities available. Please note: During the fall through spring the roads can become snow packed and icy at times. Please make sure your vehicle is equipped to handle those conditions. We have Wifi at the cabin so you can stay connected during your stay, but we encourage you to disconnect and enjoy!
