Red Lion

We ate after a 5 mile walk, in the garden it was lovely, very busy so we did have to wait for food but it was worth the wait. We all had different meals and every one was very happy with their choices. I went for the Salmon Salad and it was so tasty and worth the price.

Would stay here again. We were made very welcome! The room was clean and comfortable - brilliant shower! Basic breakfast provided but it was all we needed. Bar times and fire escapes explained. Staff were very helpful when I realised we`d left something behind after checking out. Very cosy bar.

Nice enough from the outside so in we went seeking food. But - although no customers in at all over both main bar areas and the raised inside area the music was WAY too loud. So we went outside. Beautiful sunny day and went back in to quote the table number prominently displayed on the outside table to be told - quite abruptly - no service outside. Chef just standing around doing nothing behind the bar. To be fair saved me a few quid as a warm salad for £14+ was ludicrous in itself. Toilets need a good clean as well.

Nice people Nice people

We were looking for somewhere in Bakewell for a tasty lunch. Being Vegan, this is tricky most of the time. Looked at the menu outside, had vegan option so bingo. 3 adults and two unruly dogs. We had a pint of Neck oil each and I had the vegan mushroom pie while the other two had some meat and veg. Have to say mine was lovely, hot and reasonably quick to us considering it was Sunday around 1pm. Highly recommend this pub.

Lovely little room The stay was brilliant. Good location, and perfect little room. Plenty of goodies left out for us - hot chocolate sachets, biscuits, and even porridge pots for the morning. Lovely staff/service
