Hotel lovely and staff all fabulous. Ladies - don’t worry about rushing around at home for your beauty treatments. The hotel has a spa and the beautician JJ is absolutely amazing. So gentle and kind and treatments are cheaper than UK too. It’s also a great way to unwind after the trek of getting here. I recommend the body scrub and massage on the first day as it leaves your skin feeling like new. JJ is also able to give you lots of good chat along the way about life here for the locals. I also had facial and pedicure and I best not say how many massages I indulged in 🤭 I am leaving this review because I tried to find info on spa before I came and couldn’t. On a separate note I’m a single lady traveller and pleased to say there were a fair few single lady travellers here and I do feel safe and welcomed. The staff are all super friendly and I think it rubs off on the guests. Finally I’m vegetarian and can find I struggle to eat well on some holidays. I told staff in restaurant when I arrived that I don’t eat meat or fish and have not been short of options. The only 1 day I was short on options at lunch and I asked for chickpeas and kidney beans and they bought a plate out for me straight away. I’ve not met a single disgruntled guest here and I think you’d struggle to say anything negative about this hotel 💚🦄

Amazing staff. This isn’t my first time going to The Gambia, there is something very magical about the country that keeps pulling me back. The staff at this hotel are amazing, so friendly, kind, caring, smiling and can’t do enough for you. The desk staff, restaurant staff, bar staff and pool men. Food there is plenty of food available and cooked fresh. There are also so many other places available to eat and you should try the other restaurants and bars. Everyone everywhere is so friendly. The hotel is small and friendly people look out for each other and I find this fitting with the resort. I was fortunate to be there for new year. Wow amazing the transformation the effort hard work from all the staff was amazing. The dancing till 3 am fireworks at midnight, well done what a party. I hope that the hotel appreciates the hard working dedication from the A team. With out the staff and A team dancers this hotel would have little. The dancing skill and talent from the A team is amazing you wouldn’t get this from other hotels. They are with you from first thing till you go to bed to help and entertain. The performance on New Year’s Eve from the A team was fantastic, ( sorry but have to say a negative, shame the dance team had to dance on the floor due to the volume of people there unless you stood at the front you couldn’t see them). You never have to worry about a sun lounger they would always get one ready for you. I haven’t mentioned names as I want to remain positive . It’s a fantastic place to go on holiday everyone works so hard. I find it safe everywhere. And if 601 is reading this hope you are well, Polly.

We have travelled to the Gambia many times and have fallen in love with what they call the "smiling coast ". The Ocean Bay Hotel is the best out there, with it's beautifully kept gardens, amid a plethora of birds, lizards and a visit from the vervet monkeys. Some of the rooms have been a bit updated and kept very clean by housekeeping. Breakfast is great, the usual fruit , pastries, fresh cooked eggs any way you like. Dinner is buffet style and plenty to choose from, and on certain nights is served outside. The real stars are the staff from Mrs Bass as Guest Relations Manager, to reception staff, the gardeners,cleaners, bar staff, and the beach boys who will set you up anywhere you like on the fabulous beach, shout out to Ebrima,Musa and Mohammed because they work so hard doing this. Mariama and all the staff at the beach bar which is always full of fun at the end of the day. Entertainment in the evenings are organised by Ambrose and his team, a mixture of live bands and cultural music. Last but not least to the horse boys who have two lovely white horses and provide rides on the beach,horses name are Starlight and African Queen looked after by Dodou and Tia....book a ride and feel the wind in your hair you won't regret it. 6 hour flight from the UK and a fantastic place to visit for winter sun...what's not to love.

Just spend a week at the Ocean Bay Hotel in Gambia, it was a lovely holiday, all the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Food was good, beauty spa good and very reasonable prices. Room was fairly large and if you wanted a bit of nightlife there is Senna Gambia 20 minutes away. Nice nearby restaurant called Calypso.

C’est un grand complexe très agréable, avec piscine et une immense plage sur l’océan. Bonne animation autour de la piscine qui est bien entretenue. Nombreuses possibilités d'activités aquatiques. Sympathique service dans le restaurant qui propose un buffet assez varié.
