The St. Regis Punta Mita delivered on service and atmosphere. My wife and I spent a short July vacation in a Junior Suite that included breakfast and a daily resort credit. Although it was technically rainy season, most showers were limited to late at night and clear to partly cloudy skies during the day. From arrival to departure, the service was truly top-notch. Every member of the staff, from management to beach attendants, worked to ensure our stay was enjoyable. Pool and beachside service struck the perfect balance. Staff checked in often enough to keep us pampered, but never too often to interrupt the peaceful vibe. Buckets of cold water, towels, loungers, and umbrellas were always ready before we had to ask. The poolside food, including ceviche, sushi, and burgers, was fresh and easily customized to our preferences. Our Junior Suite was slightly dated, but it was clean, well-maintained, and very comfortable. We especially enjoyed the outdoor shower. It had a rustic feel that added charm and gave the room a more authentic, regional touch. Our spa experience was also excellent. The massages were skillfully done, and while the open-air spa was a little warm during our visit, I imagine it is more comfortable during cooler months. Breakfast each morning was a highlight. The buffet was varied and well-prepared, and the made-to-order items were equally good. The egg and chorizo tacos on fresh corn tortillas were easily the best thing I ate during our stay. The butler service deserves a special mention. Our butlers were always enthusiastic, helpful, and readily available. Whether arranging spa services or helping with dinner plans, they made our short stay feel effortless. Dinner at the resort restaurants was good but not quite excellent. Most dishes were fresh and well-prepared, but there were a few misses. The pizza at Seabreeze was soggy, the octopus in the tacos at Marietas needed more time on the grill, and the crab appetizer at Mita Mary was overwhelmed by mayo. That said, there were some real highlights. The Al Pastor tacos at Marietas and the grilled fish at Mita Mary were both outstanding. One area that could use improvement is the activity planning. It was difficult to understand what was included on-site, what was located elsewhere on the property, and how to book each option. I believe our butler or the concierge could have helped with that, but we were not always sure what questions to ask. Overall, the St. Regis Punta Mita is a refined and welcoming resort. The service, food, and relaxed luxury made for a memorable few days. With some clearer guidance around activities and a bit more consistency in the dining experience, one would have a tough time finding any flaws.
