Sterling Banashree Badami

Room was okay. Shower drain did not work. Water gathered while showering. I didn’t feel clean showering in that pool of water. Thank goodness, we were there for only one night. Originally, I was supposed to stay there for two nights but I had changed it to one night and some how the management was not aware of it and they weren’t very happy about it. They made me pull my email of cancellation and the new booking. The front desk guy was ill-mannered. I would not recommend that place but there really aren’t enough decent places to stay in that remote village.

We stayed in Sterling Badami resort for 3 nights( 28th - 30th December 2024). It is approximately 5 kms from Badami Bus stand. We were a group of eight - 6 adults and 2 children. We occupied Rooms 103-105. Stay was very comfortable. Rooms were clean, spacious and well maintained. Air conditioners in our rooms were working quite well. Each room is provided with individual Geiser. Also each room had a Electric kettle and you can make tea or coffee whenever needed. Room service staff were very good , courteous and cooperative. They took care of our requirements very well. As for amenities, there is a swimming pool , Table tennis, Shuttle badminton court and carrom available for use to guests without any hiring charges. Also there was Electric toy bike and electric car for children on chargeable basis. You can also hire bicycles. Sterling was also facilitating supervised rock climbing for which you need to go outside the resort some 4 kms away. Our children spent good time in the pool / shuttle badminton/ Table tennis. Restaurant food was very tasty although we could see some shortage of staff. The staff were very decent and willing to accommodate the requirements of the guests. We had tried buffet breakfast and dinner. We also tried a la carte for lunch. They also provide room service if needed. Sterling reception staff also ( Mr.Shekar and others) were helpful in arranging cab services from external travel operators for local sightseeing visits. We also take this opportunity to thank Mr.Tenzyn a thorough gentleman and Sterling manager who is on deputation from Kodaikanal Sterling resort to set up this Badami resort. He was very helpful and kind. When one of our member fell sick at the resort, he coordinated and rushed medical help from Badami. He shared his mobile number with us and requested to call him for any emergency without any hesitation. He gave the confidence that we can depend on him for any requirement. We enjoyed the Badami stay very much and it was a memorable experience.

Good and Bad This place can be better. It’s quiet, out of town, peaceful and new. Great place to unwind with plenty of in and outdoor activities including a great pool and grassy areas. It’s self sufficient. The food there is very good considering where the resort is. BUT, The staff are eager to serve but they don’t know very much about service. I’m mentioning the following to help management understand what’s going wrong. We checked into room 105. It’s under the restaurant so there’s a lot of noise coming in from above while it’s open. The place was nearly empty so why put us there. The walls are thin so why cram people into adjoining rooms where we can hear each other? Spread us out. Our floor wasn’t swept, only 1 towel and coffee cup but 2 glasses and no one told us we had to turn on the water heater to get hot water - should be part of setting up the room. Don’t throw dirty water from the restaurant over the balcony - you might splash other guests as you did to me. Fix the sewage smells from the deck of our room. If your staff say we can have an early breakfast make sure someone tells the restaurant staff. They did help us but there was little choice. There were a couple of other things but you should get the picture by now. Management needs to guide the staff about how to provide proper service and how to communicate to each other and guests otherwise the poor ratings will continue. Readers, don’t give up on this place- it could be so much better

Lovely Hotel in Badami It was a very comfortable and pleasant stay in Badami,. this we think is the best hotel to stay in Badami.Excellent value for money

Room cleaning very good. Food is very good. House keeping Ganesh very good One suggestion - keep door mat in the Room entrance space and GM Mr Shekhar Betageri very helpfull. Swmming pool is very clean and big one also. We will visit with my family in near future

Stay was good hotel is good bit there some foul smell of the drainage friendly srltaff too far from the city buffet dinner priced very high at 700 per person
