Hotel Alpina - Thermenhotels Gastein

Lovely, charming and well run hotel. This is the definitive Alpine hotel full of pine wood and views across to the mountains. My room - number 21 - was small as single rooms tend to be but it was nicely furnished and well cleaned each morning. The spa and pool was always clean and a nice place to be. Finally, the food was excellent ditto the Gösser beer as well. Thank you, I'll be back ⛷️📸

We stayed in hotel Alpina for a ski trip, we were a group of 6 ,we had a slight mix up on arrival with rooms but that was cleared up quickly. This hotel is easily one of the best I've ever stayed in on a ski trip, the rooms are well equipped, comfortable, very quiet ,clean and warm. The staff are so helpful, friendly and attentive. We were on a half board stay so breakfast was very good great selection of bread, cheese, cereal, fruit, eggs, bacon, sausages, hams, juices, tea and coffee. We were also surprised to have after ski snacks in the afternoon which had soup,cakes etc. Evening meals were 4 courses with a big salad selection, soup, main course with 3 choices of meat, fish and vegetarian options followed by dessert. All in our group loved the food and they were happy to mix and match to accommodate tastes. Comfort rooms are definitely worth the few extra quid. The pool, sauna, steam room and wellness area are a lovely bonus after a long day skiing the only negative is kids being noisy. The hotel is about 10min walk to gondola but there is a bus stop just outside. The hotel has a boot and ski room but we used the lockers at the gondola or at the ski hire shop to store ours as its a lovely walk to the gondola and you might want to stop off without skis and boots. Hotel Alpina is a very traditional Austrian hotel but manages this tradition beautifully. I would highy recommend and would happily stay again. We had so much fun with the staff and manager.

We stayed at Hotel Alpina for a family ski holiday with a family of 4 (kids aged 5 and 7 yrs). We very much enjoyed our stay! The hotel is located about 10 mins walk to the lift, which was fine with the 2 kids. Breakfast offers everything we needed. Kids in particular loved the all options, (breadrolls, croissants, cereals, fruit, eggs etc) For dinner there is always a large saladbar with plenty of healthy choices. The soup and main courses were good, we mainly tried the fish and veggie options. Kids generally went for the fish option. So we haven t tried the kids menus. The staff was very kind and helpful. Special thanks to Christina! We definitely recommend to try one of Charley s cocktails at the bar as they are of proper cocktailbar quality! Pina Colada was our winner 😁. The lounges downstairs are very spacious and have relaxed chairs. The very nice swimmingpool was large enough for more families to play in and was warm. (Sometimes hotel swimmingpools can just be too cold) The sauna was pleasant. Room: We booked the double room comfort with separate living room, so the kids could sleep in the living room on a sofabed. This suited us perfectly as in the evening, when the kids were asleep, we could relax in the lounge downstairs. The matrassen are good (and we are quite critical). Plenty of space to unpack luggage in the room. There is an electric car charger. We would definitely stay here again, hopefully next year! Many thanks to all staff who this stay so enjoyable!
