Sungarden Golf & Spa Resort

I will start with the only positive experience and that was the spa. The presentation, the pool and sauna was nice. We stay for one night and I am glad it was only for 1 night.. The room smelled awful, it smelled like damp, which did not go away. The TV had no Netflix and would not pair with phone. The breakfast was cold and dry, it taste like the food was from the day before. The paid massage was horrendous. The lady did not put no effort, it seem like she did not want to be there. I could go on but it's clear that I would never return to this spa and I would not recommend this spa to anyone else. Terrible experience 😢

Ontvangst bij de receptie vriendelijk en zeer behulpzaam. De geboekte Premium King Guest Room a 850,- Ron/nacht, zoals afgebeeld op hun website en beschreven, deze was zeker de helft kleiner en lijkt geheel niet zoals op afbeelding. Kamers niet top schoon, beperkte koffer opslag, weinig kleerhangers in kleedkast, vloerbedekking lijkt mij niet meer van deze tijd. Gerenoveerde betegelde badkamer, de vloer hiervan spekglad (keuze tegel), water van douche loopt badkamer in, beperkte ruimte voor toiletspullen. Balkon, het terras niet best afgewerkt, schoonmaak balkon heeft aandacht nodig, en behoort ook opgeruimd te worden van gebruikt servies. Inrichting receptie zoals jaren terug geen verandering, meubels zoals stoelen en banken doorgezakt met vlekken. Terras binnenplaats nog steeds niet afgewerkt na al die jaren, wordt niet best onderhouden en is een troosteloze aanblik, de bestrating gaten/ kuilen en ontbrekende keien, verlichting los op de grond, vijver te weinig water met dode vissen. Het terras binnenplaats, vuile kussenstoelen liggen her en der verspreid, vuile asbakken die reeds meerdere dagen niet schoongemaakt, zoals ook een tafelkleed en overige in houtenbak op tafel. Het kleinere terras bij feestzaal hotel was wat beter bijgehouden. De toiletten aldaar, hadden dringend behoefte aan een schoonmaak. Er vonden verbouwingswerkzaamheden plaats met geen fraai aanzicht en geluidsoverlast, wat niet wordt gemeld bij reservering. Door de verbouwing is het ontbijt en diner in feestzaal, de bediening aldaar beperkt. Deze ruimte is via het hotel bereikbaar met brede trap.... geen trapleuningen, waardoor het gevaarlijk is deze te betreden, of men moet buitenom gaan via helling binnenplaats! Het ontbijt geen afstemming in het aanvullen ingrediënten en serviesgoed, dit was voorheen beter ofwel goed. Versheid en houdbaarheid van vissalade in de gaten houden. De 5 sterren behoren zeker niet tot de huidige status. Prijzen zijn ruim verdubbelt, wat niet in verhouding staat tot de huidige geboden kwaliteit, service en diensten. Het gaat hier om een hotel met een mooie, rustige en perfecte ligging ( ex verbouwingsoverlast) in het groen waarvoor wij voorheen de voorkeur gaven voor een verblijf nabij Cluj. Golfbaan en overige, geen beoordeling daar wij deze niet hebben bezocht tijdens het verblijf. Het zwembad is hetzelfde gebleven en op het oog redelijk onderhouden, de infraroodcabines dient men aandacht te besteden aan hygiëne voor de zit en vloer. De overige cabines hebben wij niet bezocht. Lift, de vloer spekglad (achtergebleven water) en gevaarlijk, geen waarschuwingsbord! Bij aankomst/vertrek geen assistentie voor koffers. Prijs, veel te duur voor wat er geboden wordt. Doe er wat aan, jullie hebben een mooie lokatie waar iedereen zich thuis zou kunnen voelen. Ondanks de reviews, en belofte verbeteringen van management van maanden terug, lijkt er nog niet veel verbetert te zijn. Er is nog veel werk te verrichten om op een gepast niveau te k

DO NOT COME HERE! I will start by saying the spa was really good, that is one of the only nice things I can say about this place. My first night, I decided to go downstairs & have dinner. Despite there being 0 people in the restaurant & 200 lei for a steak, I didn't have a choice because Bolt doesn't deliver here & the closest restaurant is 20 mins away. I ordered the ribeye, it was almost inedible. I asked for medium-rare, it was bleeding. They put a literal slice of CHEDDAR cheese on my "crispy PARMESAN potatoes" (which were almost green) & when I asked them to fix it (very nicely because the waitress was sweet) they cooked it again. This time is was burnt on the outside & still raw on the inside. I didn't even try to eat it at this point because I saw the "chef" & he looked as if he was just hired off the street with no training. They gave me 20% off which is appreciated. After that, we decided to go to the spa. The spa was lovely. Unfortunately it gets worse though. The bartender was being really passive aggressive because I couldn't speak Romanian. Also they don't have vodka at the bar, when I asked about it she told me "um no" as if that was a weird question to ask at a literal bar. I had a mojito. It was fine. Overall, this place is extremely overpriced & there was barely anyone here because they seem like they are going out of business pretty soon. You're better off going to Vibre Hotel, similar price & 10x better. Trust me.

I came back to repeat a very pleasant experience from 8 months ago. Pros: The massage was also with Andreea, exceptional, the spa area superlative, I appreciated Mr. Turos' therapy. The outdoor pool is beautifully made, too bad it is not heated. Minuses: In the Finnish sauna it smelled of chlorine, there was no essence available. At the reception, the young lady looked disheveled, her blouse unironed. I had to explain repeatedly how to do the invoices. Dirty windows in the reception area and beyond. I found the coffee mugs in the room dirty upon arrival, and there was water on the floor in the bathroom. The bathroom is small and uncomfortable in relation to the size of the room. The whole hotel needs a modernization, it is a shame of the initial concept and investment. There are many outdated aspects, with kitsch accents in the hallways and common areas. The staff is not at the level of a 5-star hotel. Dirty windows in the reception area and beyond. I found the coffee mugs in the room dirty upon arrival, and there was water on the floor in the bathroom. The bathroom is small and uncomfortable in relation to the size of the room. The whole hotel needs a modernization, it is a shame of the initial concept and investment. There are many outdated aspects, with kitsch accents in the hallways and common areas. We traveled from the US to Cluj for the Romanian Cup golf tournament. Everything about our experience at Sun Garden was excellent. Our rooms were beautiful and clean, stocked with fluffy towels and robes, and received daily housekeeping. The spa was wonderful - my sister-in-law and I received side-by-side massages and our whole family enjoyed the other amenities together. The indoor pool is a wonderful, warm temperature and we had no trouble finding lounge chairs. The saunas and hot tub were amazing. The whole environment was very unique and old world feeling; it felt like we were in another time. The golf course was awesome - short relative to the courses we're used to in the US but super fun. 9 hole par 66. The food in the hotel restaurant was delicious - my favorite dish was the lentil cream soup which I had at least once per day during our four day stay. Service in all areas excellent, from the attentive and friendly waitstaff to the helpful front desk to the skilled therapists in the spa. We have all great memories from our stay at this beautiful resort and hope to return.

First time ever I can say that in this resort there is nothing to complain. Everything is more than perfect. Service everywhere is kind and hotel staff speaks also good english. Rooms are modern, fresh and clean. Minibar is well equipped. Spa area is fresh clean and lovely. Many different saunas and couple pools. Small pool bar where was nice menu of snacks and cocktails. Location is perfect. Surrounded by beautiful nature. 20 min from the center of Cluj. You can wake up to the sounds of birds and frogs from nearby lake. Spa experience couldn't get better from this. Absolutely worth of visit!
