While Casa Hormiga is a beautiful hotel, the lack of customer service from hotel employees and management staff was truly disappointing and because of this I'm not sure I would come back or recommend this hotel. Rooms were great, pool was nice, restaurant was nice, welcome drink was delicious, and it really felt like a quiet sanctuary. But, after our first day, three items of my husband's clothing went missing. It likely was washed with the hotel laundry but the items were never returned. We inquired about this at the front desk when we noticed the items were gone and each day thereafter. The front desk staff said they'd check each day, but never got back to us and when we followed up they said "Oh we'll check with housekeeping". On the last day, when we said we were leaving and wanted to resolve the missing clothings items, the front desk staff said they had no way of knowing if the items we claim are missing and there's nothing they could do. The manager/owner was supposed to reach out to address our concerns and never did. We followed up with the hotel several times (even after we checked out) and never got a response. This is not what you expect from a nice hotel. The hotel was dismissive and did not take my missing items seriously. We were ignored. I'm glad the clothing was not too valuable, but what if something valuable went missing during my stay? Caution booking here for this reason.
