We had an excellent 2 night stay at the Biencourt. Our room, on the ground floor with its own outside seating in the courtyard of this old school building, was charming - very clean and comfortable. While the rooms do not have a mini-bar, the Hotel offers a shared fridge accessible at any time next to the breakfast room, which was a nice touch! The breakfast focusses on fresh local produce and was very good. We opted to park our car at the Chateau car park for the duration of the stay and this worked fine. The car park is only a couple of hundred meters from the hotel and works out at EUR 7 night when validated by the hotel. (It's much more expensive if you don't get it validated. Once validated, you can leave and return freely for the period you have opted to validate). Alternatively, the hotel also has its own limited garage parking at the same cost which is a little closer. Free street parking, albeit a little further away, is also potentially available. If needed, the hotel can supply a code for the electric street bollard (since the hotel is located on a largely pedestrianised street) allowing you to stop briefly outside to load and unload. Azay has a number of good restaurants but we suspect they can get busy at all but the quietest of times so worth booking. The hotel management couldn’t have been more helpful or responsive (And spoke very good English!) - we would definitely stay again.
