South Star International Hotel

We had a 4 day event at South Star international hotel and they did a very good job of hosting us! The food at all breaks was excellent.. last night we had BBQ and Tandoori with the excellent Chef Ali! It was delicious and a great experience. The staff was very accommodating for the event.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for 11 days, ending October 30, 2024. In short, our expectations were dramatically exceeded. The service from the staff is beyond anything we have seen from any hotel in the world. Of particular note is Ujera and Girma of the food service management staff and Getu in the front lobby. They asked us for special requests and fulfilled them promptly. They wanted us to feel at home and did everything possible to make it feel that way. The food is good, everything worked (hot water, toilet, etc), which is rare in Ethiopia, and its quiet. We used their outdoor patio a lot and were promptly served a macciato every morning. The location is good, since its away from the busiest streets but still accessible to many locations in Hawassa. In short, our expectations were greatly exceeded. I had a bad experience at this hotel for 4 nights. The lights and air conditioning didn't work well, but they gave me a fan when I asked. The food was not good, and tea was served cold. There was an unexpected 150 ETB charge for room service on top of a 10% service fee. The hotel is outdated and poorly maintained, but the staff were friendly and helpful.

wow i never seen before like vertex night club w/c found in south star i am so amazed, so come and visit this club.deliver excellent customer service take the time needed to understand the needs of their unique customer base.

The stuff is friendly but the place is dirty. The bathrooms are the worst, there is a soap scum everywhere in the shower and the shower doors. The shower head is broken. The towels are so gross, some even have holes in them. I have no idea why they give that to customers and still call them selves a 5 star hotel. The bed sheets have stains and the pillow case is visibly dirty. I’m definitely not coming here again.

We had a great time with our team members for one night and they give 5 * Service and the restaurant,club was very amizing in hawassa we proud b/c of them service staff and all managment its recomended place in hawasa.
