Schönes hotel inmitten toller Umgebung. Kein Luxus aber alles was der Mensch so braucht für einen entspannten Urlaub. Schön eingerichtete Zimmer pool, gutes Essen und ein freundlicher Service. Die Lage ist als Ausgangspunkt für Sigiriya ideal. Was will man mehr? Gerne wieder.

Having travelled all the way from the UK, I found this to be the perfect place to enjoy the beautiful nature of Sri Lanka. With access to different touristic attractions like the jeep safari and Sigiriya Rock within roughly one hour of the property, Kumbukgaha Villa is a great spot to not only cherish peaceful times on the grounds of the hotel but also a gateway to visiting landmarks that make the area special. The staff and food were lovely, however the one thing that surprised me on arrival were the open air bathrooms and how close you can actually get to the wildlife of Sigiriya! This in itself was a new experience for me but I would definitely try it again, be prepared to make friends with peacocks, squirrels and even small bats at times!

Rooms are great and it’s a very quiet spot but somewhat remote from Sirigiya. The organisation of the hotel seems somewhat haphazard and not quite up to scratch. The “ snack “ menu is overpriced and very poor quality. Overall the food is ok and the hotel is lovely but not run to a 5 star rating standard.

In dit kleinschalige hotel voel je je meer dan welkom. Heel rustig gelegen in ‘the middle of nowhere’ Je logeert in een afzonderlijke mooi gedecoreerde chalet met een buitenbadkamer. In zo’n klimaat best wel leuk. Het personeel is super vriendelijk en in de weer. We hebben genoten van ons verblijf.

A perfect place to begin our 11 day family holiday. Wonderful, warm and very attentive staff. Outstanding location and villas, authentic, rustic and tranquil surroundings and decor. Ideal setting to relax and recharge from our fun filled and active days out in Sigiria.

Kumbukgaha is q quiet, peaceful haven handy for Sigiriya and Polonnaruwa. The food is excellent, service attentive but not intrusive and the ambience is most relaxing. The villas all have a view of a pond which is home to varieties of birdlife. There is a comfortable pool to cool off in and rooms are cosy. Definitely recommended!

We loved our stay here. Our room had been recently refurbished (Bungalow 2) and was spacious and comfortable. The food was very good and the restaurant area had a lovely atmosphere. It was well located to get to all local attractions. The pool was very welcome after a hot day. There is lots of wildlife around - many chipmunks and peacocks - but we also saw a whole family of monkeys passing through whilst sitting by the pool. The outside bathrooms won't be for everyone but I really liked the experience.

We verbleven hier twee nachten. We kregen een hartelijk welkom met een drankje. We hadden een luxe villa met een buitendouche. Dit is een mooie locatie met een zen-sfeer, je komt echt tot rust met al die eekhoorntjes om je heen. Er was ook een zwembad aanwezig om af te koelen. Persoonlijke benadering door het personeel, ze deden er alles aan om het naar je zin te maken. Al met al: topplek, aanrader!

The hotel is well off the road, in a very rural setting. Apart from the friendly dogs, we saw peacocks, colour ful lizards and lots of birds. The villas are self contained, spacious wit a large comfortable bed and an outdoor bathroom. The meals were excellent and the staff very helpful and keen to please. We could see the villas from the summit of Sigiriya and it was a good place from which to explore the old capitals.
