"What we liked: We liked being in the countryside. It was quiet and we walked the roads around the property to see lovely views. We liked the food, quite excellent. What we didn't like: Taxi arrangement from the train station didn't work out, luckily an Uber was available. After that we walked to/from hotel and town -- property like this should have some kind of car shuttle. Also the food was extraordinary, but the server for dinner was somewhat unfriendly (because we are two women or because our French isn't great or because we don't want wine??). Finally, we found the room quite small and there was no indoor public sitting area to relax and read during the late afternoon when it was raining. Wifi was nominal."

"The most helpful and friendly staff of any hotel I have ever stayed in! The hotel is older and showing wear, but the beds were comfortable, and our suite was huge and roomy for my family. The bistro on site was quite good, too! We enjoyed our weekend at the Hotel de France."
