My wife and I stayed at a Hilton property in MS last year, and after waiting 20 to 30 min. for them to "get it ready," the room they assigned us was laughable - bed stripped, windows filthy/nasty, ice machine out of order on that floor, etc. We were given a different room, but no one even apologized. After complaining to Hilton, we were sent a "Be Our Guest" voucher to stay for one night at a Hilton facility in the future. I recently called Hilton Guest Svcs to redeem that voucher at this property in Auburn, AL, and they made the reservation and gave me a confirmation #. After driving 2.5 hours, I was told at the front desk that they would not honor this voucher at the Auburn HGI, because it said "good for any DoubleTree" standard room, tax included. There was also a big "HILTON" logo on the voucher, and it came from Hilton Guest Services! (Did I mention that I'm a Hilton Honors member?) I expressed my displeasure, and after being forced to wait for 10 min. or so, I was given a room on the highest floor that was the furthest distance from the elevator (hint, hint). The phone rang before I could even get my things off the rolling valet, and an assistant general manager said they would not be able to accept the voucher, and if I chose to stay, my room would be charged to the credit card on file for incidentals. I couldn't get out of there fast enough, and will be calling Hilton Honors Customer Service this morning. What a lousy way to treat any customer, much less an Honors member! I sincerely hope this review will keep even one person from doing business with this establishment - they were very unprofessional and discourteous.
