We were welcomed by the owner and shown to room #1 . We were also advised of a local hotel restaurant as we didn't wish to go into Athlone with its "coin only" parking. Breakfast was delicious with nice choices. There's a lounge area on the ground floor that's available until 10 pm. Our room (#1) was not terrible but... The mattress was well worn, slumping to the middle and we could feel the springs. Add to that facing a main road and its noise and we didn't sleep well. For those who remember phone booths, the shower was not that large. I'm 6' of average weight but bending to wash my feet was not possible without the door being pushed open. It was only one night.

Excellent with a top class service, Breakfast is excellent, room is well presented, a welcome change to the chain hotels, a personal experience with hosts that go above and beyond expectations. Breakfast is fantastic and I can't fault the place. Will stay again

Nice house, very nice room, and adequate parking. A little out of town, but parking in town wasn’t an issue. The (cooked) breakfast was superb, the tastiest I can remember anywhere, all local produce, I was told. My wife chose the ‘healthy’ option, which was equally well-received. All-in-all, a very good stop on our way across to the west coast, and on our list for the future.

The hosts went above and beyond. Their hospitality was exceptional. The location was perfect, easy to find and good parking. WIFI was free and quick! The rooms are large and the cleanliness was faultless through out the property. It's one of the best B&B I have stayed in Ireland and I have stayed in quite a few! I would if I could give this property 20 out of 10! I couldn't fault anything during my stay.

Excellent location just few minutes out of town. We drove but if you are fit maybe you could walk. Parking on site. Carmel very helpful. Great breakfasts and good size bedrooms. We accidentally left an item and Carmel has gone out of her way to have it returned to us.

Very pleasant bed and breakfast, conveniently located close to Athlone . The room and en-suite bath were immaculate. Very quiet. Hostess very nice. I didn’t stay for the breakfast. Would recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone who doesn’t want to stay right in Athlone.
