Wineport Lodge

I've been wanting to visit wineport Lodge for as long as I can remember. We visited Glasson Lakehouse only a few weeks ago and I stood gazing across the lake thinking 'so close yet so far'. I booked last minute. Not realising there wasn't a thermal suite or communal pool or that I needed to book into the infinity pool and hot tub or that they didn't have a gym. So I was genuinely concerned when I did book and tried to get a hot tub slot and found it a bit tough to get something suitable.. But.. Wineport has a secret weapon that makes up for it. Read on.. We made the stressful 80 minute journey (thanks to Sunday drivers) and were due to land 15 minutes after the hot tub slot. I was panicking about missing the slot and it ruining a fantastic night away, especially considering the price I paid. At 1.10 I get a phonecall from wineport to say they were expecting me, I explained about the stressful traffic and I was told not to worry, take my time, they'd slide the slot out. The relief. But it didn't stop there.. We pulled up and parked. The sun was lacerating the lake. People were outside drinking on this beautiful sunny march day. It felt so nice. We walked in and were met by a gentleman, welcome to wineport, you've brought the sunshine with you, thank you. The friendliness, the professionalism. No check in, but a mention of my name and we were brought straight to the room by a friendly receptionist. How refreshing. Bags dropped, with a complimentary glass of prosecco in hand, we sontered to the hot tub to an exceptionally friendly 'Shane', full of chats and fantastic service. The minute the bubbles stopped he was over to assist and top up the bubbles. 30 minutes felt like 5. We wrapped up, headed into the pontoons' little cosy cabin to sit in front of the fire. Shane didn't hesitate to get some cocktails in our hands, full of recommendations and they didn't disappoint! We both sat and said 'This is service. This is what you want when you go away. The staff are schooled to a high degree. The professionalism, friendliness and service was second to none, from everyone'. Back inside, to the room, out to the balcony to have a beer on the lakeside with our complimentary crisps, cookie and chocolate. Beautiful. The personalised letter on the table just shows the detail they go to here. Every guest is their personal guest. The rooms are stunning, the bed comfy, bedding cosy, bathroom large and nicely decorated. That evening we headed to town for food and a pint. I came back and almost regretted not eating on site because the food looked and smelled sensational. We sat by the fire in the lobby, chatted and had a pint. How nice of an evening. We retired and slept well. Up early the next morning, we had breakfast to the room at no additional charge, that's unheard of, what a touch! The breakfast was stunning. Absolutly stunning, one of the nicest stays we have had in a while. From check in, every single member of staff including the resident cat welcomed us with such a high level of service. Special mention for Lei? and Andre and the bar staff. They surprised us with balloons for our celebration after I mentioned it in passing when we were shown our room... such attention to detail! The food was delicious. Our room was beautiful with views over the lake and we took advantage of the room service breakfast on our balcony. We will 100 percent be back and I'm only sad we had to leave so soon!!

The Wineport Lodge facilitated my sisters baby shower in the stunning glass house . The management and staff went above and beyond to accommodate any requests we had. The service staff were very attentive and helpful. The stunning views of the lake paired with the amicable ambience was extraordinary. The afternoon tea had something for everyone with plenty on each platter. The food was exquisite! We had an incredible afternoon and my sister felt so special. 10/10 would highly recommend this to anyone who is looking for an elevated, memorable experience !

I write theatre reviews regularly but I have a mind that I do not possess the vocabulary to do Wineport Lodge justice! Unbelievable 2 night stay in the most welcoming hotel I’ve ever stayed in and I have travelled extensively on business for over 40 years. Staff throughout are exceptional, from initial welcome to saying (sadly) goodbye at the end of our short break. They could not do enough to make our stay enjoyable, carefree and most of all, memorable. Rooms are wonderful, very comfortable bed, lough views and everything you need is already there and if it isn’t just ask and like magic, it appears. 5star breakfast delivered bang on time to our room each morning and no room service charges, food quality is exceptional and all locally sourced. No rib eye steak on the menu so I asked for one for the following nights dinner, not only was it there it was without a doubt the finest steak I have ever eaten, including the one cooked some years ago by Marco Pierre White! The spa treatments were so enjoyable and relaxing, I can thoroughly recommend the seaweed bath and the rice version, we tried both! On our first visit we were made to feel like regulars which is something we intend to be, thank you to every single member of staff for an incredible weekend

Thank you for hosting a wonderful 60 th birthday in the glasshouse. The setting was perfect. The food was top class. The staff and service were top quality and our room was lovely. All in all a wonderful experience. Hoping we can get back here soon. Joe & Margie Seery

We would highly recommend the Wineport to anyone looking for a romantic getaway with the wow factor. The place is absolutely stunning, the rooms, restaurant, bar and the outside area are just wow. The staff were so welcoming and were on hand to help with anything. The cocktails and food were delicious and we got to meet Fluffy the resident cat asleep at the fire!
