Swara Acacia Lodge

We had booked our stay from the 29th to the 1st and were looking forward to a relaxing visit. Unfortunately, due to an unforeseen emergency, we had to check out on the 31st as my husband needed to return to the hospital for a review following a recent leg operation. Upon checkout, my husband—who was still recovering and limping—had to carry our luggage from the room to the car without any offer of assistance from the staff. I am pregnant and was also managing our toddler, which made the situation even more difficult. When we arrived at the reception, we were informed that we needed to pay for the extra night, despite the fact that our early departure was due to a medical emergency. The staff insisted that we wait for the manager, who only arrived after an hour, despite our repeated requests for immediate assistance. When he finally addressed us, he was unapologetic, though he eventually agreed to waive the extra night. We also observed inconsistent service standards during our stay. While new guests of a different ethnicity received immediate assistance with their luggage, we were left to manage on our own. Additionally, food service was consistently slow, which was frustrating. On a positive note, we appreciated the kindness of Viola at the reception, as well as the childminders at the playground who were attentive and friendly. Overall, however, the lack of empathy and professionalism during our stay, especially during a time of personal stress, was deeply disappointing. Unfortunately, we would not consider visiting again.

Never going back there again. We arrived well. Had called early in the morning to reserve a table for 2. It wasn't done. The service was just terrible. There was no much variety. The food at the buffet was cold. My partner ordered a milk shake but it ended up being milk and a scoop of ice cream on top. Wine list was just disappointing. Ended spoiling my Christmas experience. Had such high expectations of the place but never again.

I recently visited to scout for event space, where I had a generally positive experience, but an incident at the gate marred my stay. Upon arrival, the guard did not stop me or inform me about obtaining a gate pass. After my visit, when I returned, the guard shouted at me and demanded an apology for not having a gate pass, which I was unaware of. Despite my efforts to explain and show him the gate pass I received from the lodge, he refused to look at it and verbally abused me. This behavior was unacceptable & unprofessional, significantly impacting my overall experience. I suggest improving communication about gate pass requirements and providing training for security personnel to handle situations respectfully and professionally.

The customer support representative talked to me really badly when making an inquiry the eventually blocked me, Definitely never a place I'd want to visit or anyone I care about to visit!!Really really sad those are the people representing the lodge!

I recently went to Swara Acacia Lodge as a surprise trip organized by my boyfriend and it was amazing. I enjoyed the entire experience from the food, the service and the serene natural environment. If you're looking for a place to relax away from the city and enjoy the natural environment then this is definitely the place for you. I have to mention that we were here during off season and also during the week and the service was exceptional with great attention to detail. From the moment we checked in, the staff was really amazing to us. They made sure to call us before meals to confirm what times we would be at the restaurant for meals; they also provided hot water bottles to keep us warm every night and always checked to see if we needed anything. They went above and beyond to celebrate us as we were celebrating our anniversary and we felt so special the entire time. We also spent some time doing archery and going out for nature walks and we were accompanied by a staff member who was so professional and knowledgeable during these activities. Our room was so pleasant and I loved how everything is made from natural materials so there was no need for air conditioning indoors. Also loved the cheetah theme in the room and the fact that the room was kept clean during the day and would be sprayed every evening to protect from mosquitoes and bugs. In addition to everything, I met the tailor who sews everything that is sold in the shops and she was kind enough to take my measurements and custom make some pants for me with the materials that I picked out. Everything was completed on time and made so well. Generally, our entire stay was pleasant and with great attention to detail. Based on our experience, my boyfriend and I definitely agreed to go back again and try all the other activities that we didn't end up doing. I would advice anyone to plan ahead and call ahead of time before going. Also, definitely try to go during off season and on week days if you love to enjoy some quiet time without many guests. Again, I really enjoyed my experience and can't wait to go back again another time! ❤️

A pristine natural environment in the wild conservancy of Athi River, in the outskirts of the City of Nairobi. No concrete jungle. Serene environment with natural sounds of flora and fauna. Occasional glimpse of wild antelopes and other species in the nature trail. Great rooms made of natural materials, a really organic hideaway for conferences, individual reflections and family bonding. Great staff members too: respectful, courtious, efficient and highly professional. A place to be, away from the concrete jungles and noises of urbanisation. Breath taking.
