Hadouta Masreya Nubian Guest House

所見即所得，非常可愛的地方。整個村子都是多巴胺風格的超級可愛！早餐好吃，可以在陽台上吃風景特別好，直接看到尼羅河！民宿的姐姐還帶我去摸了小鱷魚是免費的！超級棒的體驗！這個小村子特別適合閑逛，悠悠閑閑的放鬆一天！

We wanted to stay in the Numbian Village to experience the culture there. The home was beautiful and we were greeted warmly, but the bed was very hard and the shower (on the wall adjacent to the toilet) flooded the bathroom. The AC was nice, but it left the room very dark since we had to keep the window closed... we slept with the light. We booked 2 king rooms, but we’re only given one. The other couple slept in twin beds. Breakfast was included with our room, but no one was there to greet, cook or serve anything to us when we went to the “dining area” at 7:15. The information in the room stated that breakfast began at 7:00. I believe we were the only ones staying in the House, so we left our key on the counter and left. There was no closure, no request for passports or checking in/out. It was interesting to say the least!

I immediately typed this review on my phone upon departure because I was so excited to post it when I had some time and internet. Hadouta Masreya is an incredible experience! My ONLY regret is that we didn’t have enough time as we didn’t land until 1:30 am and had to leave around 9 am. Hospitality: Hamed and Shereen were extremely accommodating during and before the trip, respectively. Shereen helped me coordinate via WhatsApp transportation from the airport (and to our Nile cruise pick up point), as the Nubian Village is not directly off a main road. Our drivers were there for airport pickup on time and patient with all of our luggage and how late it was. They even came back to take us to our Nile cruise pickup point. Furthermore, one of the drivers helped us contact our tour guide when we couldn’t find our guide at the cruise point. They ensured not to leave us until we were in safe hands! Upon arrival to the guest house, Hamed welcomed us with open arms- literally! He was on the steps upon arrival (it’s 2:30 am at this point) and super friendly and helpful! He offered us juices and helped set us all up. In the morning, he offered us snacks and beverages (as we were too tired to wake up early enough for breakfast- which was definitely offered!!). Just such wonderful hospitality and we felt so sad to leave! Room: My parents had a private room on the first floor and my husband and I had one at the top floor with the view of the Nile. Both rooms were clean and had functional AC! The bathrooms were updated. Like the vanity and tiles look better than the ones in my bathroom at home LOL. The mattress was on the stiffer side, but that’s a good thing for us, as we do prefer these types of beds. The view was incredible too in the morning when we woke up! Heads up before you book: the Nile view rooms have a lot of stairs so be prepared if that’s what you book. We knew that going in so we had ourselves mentally ready! Ambience: Nubian Village is so special and beautiful. I really want to come back and visit again! The colors are so vibrant and you could feel the sense of community and pride in their village as you’re driving through. There are cute markets within walking distance too. Overall, these positive reviews are spot on, and the pictures simply don’t do this properly justice.

This was our first travel to Egypt and we wanted to meet the people not just the historic sites. We arrived from Cairo by air and where surprised by the style of this Nubian Guest House but fell in love right away with the architecture and our hosts. We had the room at the top of the building, the view over the Nile from our balcony made the 100 steps worth while. Room and bath have the typical vaulted ceilings. Air conditioning, Wifi and room services were perfect. Breakfast was delicious and served on the terrasse below, Other meals we ate on the deck of a boat in front of the restaurant. Our host guided us to The Nubian Coffee House on Mafia Island where Tohame ground beans and spices to brew Nubian coffee on charcoal embers, while we watched the Nile flow. From the landing in front of the Guest House we took boat tours to Elephantine and Kitchener Islands and Aswan. Our hosts organized this for us. We loved our stay in Gharb Sohail and want to believe that we left as friends.
