The whole point in me booking a room for the Saturday night (5th April 2025), was to attend a friends wedding meal for 15 people, and i wanted to be able to enjoy a few drinks, as i live the other side of Manchester. Just before 10pm, the staff came into where we were eating, and told us they were closing the bar, because there were only a few people in the main bar. If i had known they were going to close the bar so early, i would never have booked the room, and would have had a few soft drinks and driven home. As all my fellow diners were refused any more drinks, and live locally, they simply went home disgusted at the situation. I was left twiddling my thumbs in the bar on my own, so i just went up to my room. When i left the bar, there were still around 10 to 15 young people still sitting in the bar. The room was tired and cold. I eventually found a convector heater in the wardrobe, which i had to balance on a chair - it stopped working after 1 minute. The management clearly expect you to be cold, otherwise, why have the heater in the wardrobe. As a result, i was cold, and got very little sleep. Despite the staff closing the bar at 10pm, i could still hear music playing downstairs in the bar after 11.30pm. When i wanted to leave in the morning, i couldn't get out of any of the doors downstairs - i was locked in. I had to carry my bags back upstairs, and go down the fire escape. I was charged £100 for 1 night - no breakfast included, which is outrageous for this poor level of hotel. In summary - this was an awful experience, and a complete waste of £100, due to the staff simply deciding to close the bar at 10pm on a Saturday night. What a way to treat your customers !! The window blind also needed fixing, as it wouldn't close properly. We all felt the food was excellent, but that's the only good thing to be said about this place. Avoid this hotel like the plague !!
