Plaza Inn & Suites at Ashland Creek

The location can't be beat! Walking distance to great restaurants and bars plus the Shakespeare Festival. The outside of the hotel is very nice. Our room was on the main floor, overlooking the creek. The pros: very quiet, nice coffee machine, great breakfast, comfortable bed, nice wine tasting guy, and the grounds are very well kept and gorgeous. The cons: well, there is definitely a musty smell in the room, hallways, and elevator. I read the previous reviews and should have taken note. The balcony - well, you could not sit on the patio chairs and see the grounds or creek. You had to stand up which I wish I would have known! Easy fix if you put bar patio furniture? They were going to call us when our room was ready when we checked in and that didn't happen. Also, one day we went to Crater Lake and our room still had not been made up when we returned. We told the nice girl at the front desk that we didn't care if room wasn't done but all we needed was a few Keurig coffee cups. She gave us some and said housekeeping would bring up some cream packets. Never happen. Still waiting for a copy of our bill to be emailed to us. Never received a survey as well.

I booked my stay directly with the Plaza Hotel in Ashland, Oregon, speaking with someone named David. He assured me I was getting a nice room with a creekside view in what was described as a charming, boutique-style hotel. Based on that, I even paid extra for the upgraded room. Instead I got was a dark, dungeon-like room under the noisy outdoor dining deck. At 7 a.m., the loud creaking from chairs and footsteps above made it impossible to sleep. As soon as I went to my room I marched right back to the front desk to express my concerns about the room type promised, but the young woman there was rude and dismissive. She told me that I had booked that room and only offered a dirty room or a lesser one on the opposite side of the hotel. Neither option was acceptable. The room itself was extremely outdated. The carpet was dark, sticky, and seemed to hide years of dirt. The velvet headboard was stained and downright disgusting. The bathroom had old, worn tile with grout. The sheets felt thin and used, not what you'd expect from a hotel charging over $250 plus a night. The entire room felt like an outdated, mismatched mess—like an interior designer’s nightmare from 20 years ago that no one has had the sense to update. The décor was chaotic, and it did nothing to distract from the general dirtiness of the space. Only good thing was the location. Save your money. Stay with a reliable chain hotel where you know what to expect. David, you really let us down. I hope this helps others avoid the same mistake

They gave us one bed for my whole family and when we asked to move they said we were screwed. So much for a vacation. What a sh*t show. Never stay here.

We were there for a week visiting our daughter who was working at OSF. We had the King Spa Suite and it was fantastic! This is not a super new hotel but it is clean and everything is in good shape. The room was great for a long stay. It had a separate sleeping area from the living area with the TV, desk, couch, sink, counter, microwave and refrigerator. We could spread out, eat a quick take out meal, etc. The outside had tables where you could read, eat, etc. We used them to play games. There is a serene stream that runs along the property and is magical. The best part is that it is SO CLOSE to the downtown. You can walk everywhere. Amazing places to eat, shop, drink. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Beautiful property. Great staff. Friendly, helpful housekeeping staff. 90% positive review. Could be better: Beds are not very comfortable. Breakfast at 9 a.m. and most items were gone or not replenished. Not a lot of variety for breakfast items

Easy to walk to restaurants, shops, and plays. It was very quiet. No elevator in the building we stayed in, so had to walk luggage upstairs. We were fine but might be difficult for others.
