Last minute booking 2 days before and had no problem as well as being generally cheaper then other hotels in ashford. It was are wedding anniversary and was wanting to just go away for the night so we decided Kent. We arrived 3 hours early so we knew we could not check in. However, when I went in to speak to the staff they were extremely helpful. When I asked about things round the area todo they told us about the different things. Which was very helpful. When we arrived back at 3 the check in was very quick and sorting the parking out was very helpful. One thing that needs improving is staff need to try and explain to people where there room is as the lady we had serve us gave us the key and just pointed us to the door how to get through. I feel they should have at least told us what room we were in and what floor as we were unsure till we got to the lift. One thing I can say is DO NOT GO IN THE LIFT. I went in 2 times and I’ll be honest I actually felt uncomfortable and made me feel very uneasy the fact I was not sure if we were going to make it to the top floor or not and they fact there was duct tape holding something in the lift was shall we say very unsettling so when we went out for food and left in the morning we ended up walking down the stairs which was tiring. Room very tidy and very spacious. However, I was there was more sugars and milks. As you would have to go down to the reception to go and get more. I decided not to have one so my husband could have one instead. Bathroom very clean. However, there was no soap in the dispenser or if there was the it was not working. The dispenser in the shower was working. However it actually made my skin very painful and red. I feel when it comes to the dispenser there should be a little label or something stating what is in it in case someone is allergic the product. The bed was very comfy which I ended up having a really great night sleep. One very big complaint I have is my husband went out for a cigarette, when he came in he saw a man who could barely stand up who was being held up by his partner who was struggling to hold him up. My partner held the door open for them so they could get through without the lady having to struggle any more. One of the receptionist ladie (tall) snapped at my husband to close the door and to leave them alone even though it was clear the staff were not willing to go round and help even open the door which I think is absolutely rude. Anyone who has been brought up in the hospitality industry/ hotel business should know common curtesy and manors which they should know not to look down on people and treat them respectfully which this member of staff could not do and in my opinion this really makes travelodge look very bad. The other shorter receptionist was not very helpful either but at least offered the gentleman a glass of water; she did not say anything to the other staff member who was very rude. This was the 19th April late evening. I feel the evenin
