Dunbrody Country House Hotel

Disappointed Beautiful location. But the attic room was unbearably hot. Should have opened windows prior to our arrival. Majority of staff were nice, however our dinner waiter only addressed one of our party and was rude. The steaks in the seafood bar were of poor quality and not cooked as requested.

We had a voucher and so looked forward to our afternoon visit. We opterd for the Seafood bar. Well OMG probably the most disappointing dining experience ever. We ordered starters, prawn coctails, served warm and on a bed of lettuce leaf, butterhead, with some mary rose sauce. Doesnt take much to get this. Just so basic and uninteresting was this at a premium price all served on what looked like a very small soup dish !! When asked the waiter, at least thats what I tjought he was, were they atlantic prawns he just said they were not too big !! OK onwards and we both chose the fish pie, what an experience this was. Stuffed full of peas, very small amount of some white fish all finished off with a potato topping. Gross is what best described it. Both of us had the exact same opinion. Anyway we knew at this stage what our experience was, it didnt stop me ordering coffee, you guessed it, was so bad I just had one sip. The waitress was local and very nice but when my partner asked her what did the vegitables consist of she said a carrott but would go and check it with the kitchen !! We are not difficult to please and this review gives us no pleasure however the afternoon out was spoiled for us. We spent E140.00 off a E200.00 voucher leaving E 60.00 balance to our credit. Dont know if we will bother returning.
