Palomar 1 is one of six houses to rent, nestled in the organic finca Gran Canaria "Las Tenerias" and surrounded by palm trees, orange groves, green areas and vegetable crops. In the autumn of 2019, all the residential units were completely renovated and lovingly designed in traditional Canarian style, each individually and unique in style and equipment. The organic finca "Las Tenerias" (translated "the tanners") is 230 years old and has a lot of charm and an incredible attraction. It is part of the small hamlet Arteara and lies in the middle of the nature reserve and biosphere reserve in the south of the island. The finca is surrounded by an impressive landscape, whose green palm and reed form a fascinating contrast to the hard rock formations. Right and left rise the almost 1000 meter high, rugged cliffs of Amurga and the view opens onto the beautiful valley of Fataga ("Baranco de Fataga", also called Valley of the 1000 palm trees) up to the nearly 2000 meter high volcanic peaks in the center of the island. The original village of Arteara with its archaeological sites and the behind it "Baranco" with huge palm trees and impenetrable reed forests can be explored from the finca with a leisurely stroll. The certified organic finca runs sustainable agriculture and is home to 30,000 m2 of orange and orchards, vegetables, salads and herbs, and own chickens, including the endangered Swiss species of Appenzell grouse and several bee colonies with their own finca honey , All finca products can be purchased directly and absolutely fresh every day in our own farm shop. In addition, the shop offers everything necessary for the holidays. The distributed, detached dwellings form with the finca main house, the small finca village with spacious common areas: Above all, the 150 m2 large natural pool (completion in the fall of 2020), which is operated without chlorine and elevated on a fantastic sun-plateau. The swimming pond is fed by the own source of the Finca, a true privilege on the southern half of the island. In addition, the spacious barbecue area for everyone at a table, for a leisurely breakfast or a Canarian tapas evening, as well as the quieter Chill-OutArea with its own pool surrounded by orange trees, gardens and palm trees. All Finca houses also have spacious and private terraces, including their own outdoor grill kitchens, creating unrestricted privacy in the finca village. The location of the finca offers absolute tranquility, impressive landscapes and direct access to the mountainous interior of the island, far away from the tourism strongholds. Nevertheless, it is very conveniently located. In just 15 minutes (13km) you can reach the beaches and nightlife of Playa del Ingles, the sand dunes of Maspalomas or the shopping in San Fernando via a well maintained road. Towards the mountains the picturesque and well-known village Fataga is just 5 minutes (5 km) away. Everything is also comfortable on the bus line 18 to reach, which stops directly in front of the finca.
