The Caledonian Claymore Hotel

Lovely experience at the Claymore, staff were lovely, couldn’t do enough for you. Lovely clean room with the comfiest bed, white towels, hot water what more do you want for a delightful stay. Food was lovely, so much choice everyday for the evening meal, waiters were amazing, just a wonderful stay from start to finish. Thank you Claymore you did us proud.

The hotel is in a lovely location and looks nice from outside. Nice bar and another area where people can congregate for a drink. The rooms could do with work though, although I know some of them have been renovated. The bathroom looked fairly modern and I appreciated the walk in shower. But the bathroom door creaked so loudly, it might have been heard by the people in the next room! I don't think the cleaning was up to standard. There was quite a layer of dust on the base of the bedside lamp. My partner complained about the mattress, but, to be fair, I was comfy enough. One thing I have to mention is that, after coming in and finding the room had been serviced, I was amazed that the teacups had just had a quick rinse and still had brown tea stains on them. That's the first time in a hotel that we haven't had the cups replaced with clean ones. Also the kettle was discoloured and probably could have done with being descaled, but I tried not to think about it! The staff in the dining room did a good job, but the food was very basic. And although we ended up with two lovely ladies opposite us at the table, we really didn't want to have to share our table. So, all in all, the hotel was ok, but it could have been a lot better.

the reason why I rated such a low score was because of the H&S issues in the bathroom especially when it was one of the refurbished rooms and the quality of the food everything frozen lovely area which is nice to go for a walk the entertainment was good and there have bingo on which is great

Staff need training on dealing with public .rooms need cleaning properly ..no good for distabled at all ..poor service in dinning room ..takeing plates away before finished with .aving water in a jug to make tea needs improving cold en food not warm enough

We stayed here on a Caledonian coach trip.The coach drivers were 1st class..very friendly & knowledgeable.The location of the hotel was very nice,however the hotel itself led a lot to be desired..not very good at all The majority of the hotel staff were very good,the serving staff were very good,but the food was not very good at all…frozen,barely cooked vegetables Food was coming to the table was usually cold.Several customers had to send it back & the young waiter had to take the brunt of the complaints.He was a lovely young man who didn’t need to be blamed…he was only bringing the food from the kitchen.The whole issue should have been sorted out by the restaurant manageress…we really felt for the waiter.We have been on several Caledonian trips previously & this hotel was by far the worse one that we had stayed in

Hotel and room filthy, reception and bar staff very rude and condescending. Meals atrocious, glad we took sandwiches and nibbles. Waiting staff great. Food left uncovered ie cereals. Breakfast stuff all dried out except for scrambled egg which was swimming in water. We had to ask for a cleaner and our toilet seat was broken. Although bed was clean and comfortable. Wouldn't recommend it ever .
