Ah....mazing! From start to finish we had the most lovely time here. Transportation from the airport to the St Vincent dock is included, our taxi driver gave us great bits of St Vincent info on our ride. Once at the dock a small Panga boat takes you and your luggage from the dock in St Vincent to the welcoming resort. Upon arrival, the boat captain and mate, which were all so sweet and nice, help with all the luggage and direct you to the office. Once in the office, we were provided rum welcome drinks and given our room, which was 20. The office staff was over the top accommodating to every need, they are very patient and go out of their way to make sure your stay is top notch. Assistance was provided in taking our luggage to our room and up the stairs which weren't many compared to some bungalows that could be quite a few steps up. The room view...wow, the sun was setting upon arrival so we walked down to the little round rock jetty and watched the sun sink behind a mega yacht and catamarans that had stopped to anchor for the evening. We reserved the lovers package and it was great, breakfast included every morning, a wonderful massage and a bottle of champagne. The salon was closed due to renovations so the manager (who is absolutely fantastic) arranged the massage in the bungalow that is all the way at the top of the island. Worth a trip up there even if you don't have accommodations up there as you can walk the path to the other side of the island and look out at the waves crashing and Fort Duvernette. There is also a local water taxi by the dock on St Vincent that will run you over to Fort Duvernette if you'd like to climb the 253 steps to the top and check out the original cannons, it's a beautiful view up there. Worth the climb. The restaurant on Young Island has the kindest staff running it and an excellent chef. We were diving that week and spearing lionfish to which the chef very kindly cooked it for our dinner and it was absolutely fantastic. Every morning we were greeted with smiles and offered a table with a gorgeous view of the water. They take pride in their homemade bread and they absolutely should, coconut bread, cinnamon bread, banana bread etc...so good and fresh. The breakfast is great, I did try the local fish breakfast on my last day and wished I had tried it sooner, I would have absolutely ordered it several times. The lunch menu is a little limited but what we had was great. If you want to venture out we tried a few of the restaurants on the St Vincent side. The resort boat will take you over there at any time and there is a phone by the dive shop to call the resort boat to come and pick you back up if they're not at the dock when you're ready to go back to Young Island. Bungalow and Ada were great restaurants on that side. The office arranged a taxi to take us to 4 Shells which is just down the road, if you want local food, this is the place. Nothing fancy, order off the blackboard at the inside bar and eat at picnic tabl
