"The complex houses two accommodation companies, including Odalys, as well as private rentals. It looks abandoned: small arenas overgrown with vegetation, a closed pontoon on the lake with a half-submerged pedal boat... The adjacent sports grounds belong to the local council and were deserted during our visit. The car park isn't supervised. The accommodation itself had a musty smell and outdated fixtures, etc. Arles is quite a distance away. Nothing about this place felt welcoming. We won't be returning."

"Rick Steves recommended this hotel 24 years ago. I came back last Sep 2023 and the room we had was ok. The management has changed now owned by Eric and Valerie. On our 2nd day, we requested not to have our room cleaned hoping we had the option to get towels anytime. We informed Eric in the morning we left for Les Baux that we don't want our room cleaned since they don't have those door hangers. However, that night when we came back, my husband requested for toilet paper and extra towels. Eric gave him the toiler paper but not the towels. So I came down and as soon as I tried to request or say something, Eric got so upset, started talking in French saying "Merde", stood up angrily and kept talking in French from the time he went up to get the towels to the time he got back to the front desk. I watch French movies and I know what that word means. What a rude receptionist/owner! It was a very simple request and he was disrespectful. I paid the hotel fees. I did not deserve this kind of treatment. Their excuse is it's a mom and pop hotel and someone has to stay in the front desk and the cleaners come in during the day. The solution should have been to always have towels in hand in the private room next to the front desk. Normally hotels will give you towels no questions asked. Don't they know that guests can request towels any time? This owner was unkind and unfriendly. Never will I go to this hotel anymore based on my last experience."

"Haluan palauttaa totuuden negatiivisista kohdista, joita voidaan lukea Sowell d’Arlesin osalta, koska olemme viettäneet erinomaista kuusi päivää Olivierissa. Olen muuten saanut tilaisuuden keskustella tästä johtajan ja hänen varajäsenensä kanssa, jotka ovat hyvin avoimet ja ystävälliset. Pahoinpitelyjä ei ole millään tavalla perusteltu. Puhtaus on huomattava (le draps et serviettes sont changés), ravinto on erinomainen, vaihteleva ja kopioivalta (gratinées moules, asperges, fraises,...), ryhmä on saatavilla ja aux petites soins. Niinpä suosittelen voimakkaasti Sowell d’Arles avec l’Olivier et les Amandiers qui ont un concept plus hôtelier et les Hameaux de Camargue qui ont un concept plus Airbnb."

"I would describe this as a simple, unpretentious budget hotel away from the crowd; just out of town in a quiet spot. On arrival, I was shown to one of the smaller purpose-built rooms/chalets by the pool but my wife and I opted for a slightly larger room in the potentially fabulous main house. Although this is a small, possibly unsophisticated establishment, all they need to do is add a few antiques, a little finesse, improved housekeeping, and you have an excellent boutique hotel. On the other-hand, you couldn’t ask for a better welcome. Big shout out to Clemente and Romeo. (However, expect local drinkers laughing and enjoying themselves late into the evening. So I suggest you avoid the rooms overlooking the bar if you’re a light sleeper.) Best regards Mr Ken Hospitality and Restaurant Critic"
