The hotel and surrounding grounds are beautiful with meticulous attention to detail throughout. The restaurant here is really first class and serves food of a Michelin star quality with an emphasis on Cretan cuisine. A particular highlight was the wine tasting led by Stelios. A fantastic selection of Cretan wines that were interesting and delicious. We learned a lot from Stelios, who guided us expertly through the history of wine making in Crete and the flavour profiles of the wines. Fantastic experience and excellent value for money. Beach towels provided. Can be changed daily. Entertainment programme for those who want to participate including boccia, archery, aqua aerobics etc. Three different bars to suit everyone. Good range of cocktails and spirits. 0% beer available. Plenty of sunbeds. Many reserved early, but still some available during the day. Sandy breach with lifeguard. "Tulin hotellin läpi etsien paikkaa syödä yhtenä yönä ja pysyä Sfakaki. Saimme pöytää katselemalla rantaa ja katsoimme kunniallista auringonlaskua syödessään. Aloitin grillatuilla jauhetuilla paprikoilla, jotka olivat todella makuisia, sitten lampaan souvlaki, joka oli jumalallinen. Oozing valkosipuli, mutta ei ylivoimainen. Kumppani oli sasanaki aloittaa ja kanan souvlaki. Ruoka oli herkullista, mutta me molemmat oli yläpuolella, kun olimme sekä aloittaja että pääkurssi. Jäämme Sfakaki viikoksi ja syömme täällä kahdesti, mutta hyppäsimme aloittajan toista kertaa. Mukavat kokeet myös."

This time we took elderley parents everyone couldn't have been more friendly, attentive and nothing was too much trouble. "Jos haluat palata ajassa taaksepäin 70-luvulle, tämä hotelli on sinua varten. TUI myy yhä huonompaa laatua yhä korkeammalla hinnalla eikä kirjoita kaikkea tarjouksiinsa. Viimeksi kun matkustimme tämän matkatoimiston kanssa! Hotelli oli traaginen. AAMIAINEN: toivoton, muutama kyseenalaisen laadun tuote, pikakahvi termospullosta, yksi keltainen juusto, yksi leikkele, pieniä määriä, hotellinjohtaja istuu sisällä pöydässä ja polttaa savukkeita aamiaista syövien vieraiden välissä. Painajainen. UIMA-ALLAS: voimakkaasti kloorattua vettä, mutta takaosa ja altaan ympäristö ovat niin likaisia, että pitäisi käyttää kumisaappaita. Ranta on traaginen, kiviä, roskaa, vanhaa tekonurmea altaan ympärillä, hotellin hiekalla olevista aurinkotuoleista veloitetaan 5 euroa. Ei ole aikaa miettiä, makaatko rannalla vai 5 metriä lähempänä altaassa, ja johtaja käyttää terminaalia ja veloittaa. Hyvin kallis allasbaari ja kyseenalaisen laadukkaat juomat. HUONE: varustelu alle vähimmäisvaatimuksen. yksi vaatekaappi makuuhuoneessa ja kaksi tuolia. Ei tilaa tavaroille, maksullinen ilmastointi, mutta sitä on varoitettava käyttämästä liikaa, koska se saattaa palaa loppuun, vain mukava sänky. Lakanoita vaihdetaan kerran viikossa. KEITTIÖ: yksi vanha ruosteinen jääkaappi, yksi kaappi. Huonekalut 70-luvulta. KYLPYHUONE: Minua inhotti pestä siinä. Pelkkä ajatuskin siitä tekee minut oksettavaksi. Vessapaperia ei sallita wc:ssä, suihku on kamala, vettä kaatuu kaikkialle, ja kun avaat veden lavuaarissa, se rikkoutuu keskelle lattiaa. Ei kaappeja, vain yksi hylly 10 cm x 30 ja siinä kaikki. Se haisee seinässä olevan reiän takia. Järkyttävää! TERASSI: melko suuri, mutta kuivausrumpu ja huonekalut ovat myös hyvin vanhoja. Sinun on työnnettävä ulko-ovea jalalla avataksesi sen. Kaiken kaikkiaan en suosittele! Tragedia 5 000 PLN:n hinnalla kauden jälkeen! TUI näyttää kuvissa retusoituja huoneita. HOTELLIN YMPÄRISTÖ: Mielno 30 vuotta sitten tai vielä pahempi, karusellimainen sirkus, kaikkialla likaa, tyhjiä rakennuksia, roskia, joitakin raunioita, hylättyjä autokolareita. Muutama bussipysäkki Rethymnonille, liput melko kalliita, yhteen suuntaan 1,20 dollaria per henkilö. Lähellä paljon mukavia pubeja, siinä kaikki edut. En mene enää koskaan takaisin Kreikkaan."

"Ok, so nothing really can be done about the location, it's in the middle of nowhere, nothing to do, no places to walk to, unless you get on the bus (buy tickets from shop in advance) or a taxi or hire a car. (Note 1hr20min direct taxi from Chania airport). Which is why it was a huge disappointment that there wasn't an animation team, no entertainment by day at all. On a Monday night for 2 hours there is a "disco party" and on Thursday night some greek dancing. That's it. There are not enough (old, uncomfortable) sunbeds for the number of guests and the pool is not big enough to accommodate everyone. €10 deposit for a towel. You need beach shoes if you want to swim in the sea, it's a rocky beach. On the plus side, the food was excellent at every meal (although lacking an a la carte or other options), the staff are fantastic, shout out to Santosh at the pool bar. Only the beach bar was open, which could cause long delays at times for drinks, closes at midnight, AI until 11pm. The sunsets are incredible. We had a lovely room with great views over the pool and beach. Please improve on the awful bars of soap. Would I stay here again? Definitely not due to the location and lack of entertainment. I would only recommend it if you are looking for a holiday where you do nothing but lie on a sunlounger all day, that is, if you can get one..."

"Their rooms have cockroahes, and they don’t even do anything about it. I just got the massage from the reception, that I could kill it myself. Then turned up another one, then another….how disgusting is that! At the end of our stay, we gave a live one back to the reception - since they like them. We Never Ever come back!"
AQUILA RITHYMNA BEACH
"We have just returned from our first family holiday abroad as a 4 to Aquila Rithymna Beach Hotel, and had a great time. The staff were friendly & polite, and the rooms spotlessly cleaned every day. We were Bed & Breakfast, and found the morning buffet to be excellent. So many choices - pastries, bread, cold meats & cheeses, fresh fruit and vegetables, olive oils, cooked options, crepes, juices and even prosseco! Fresh pots of coffee made for your table were also very well received by 2 tired parents. Our kids especially loved the Greek yoghurt, crepes and traditional Greek pastries :) The en site mini market is really well stocked with everything from sun creams, postcards and water to confectionery, hats, sanitary products, children's toys and swimming gear. Pricier than the local strip shops, but obviously very handy when you can't be bothered going further afield. The pools were lovely - we found the smaller two to be the most pleasant. More chance of nabbing a sunbed turning up after 10am, and still plenty space for the little ones to splash about and hone their swim skills. We could never get the app on the sun loungers to work for ordering drinks which was quite frustrating though! I used the spa one day for a facial and Cretan massage, which I cannot recommend enough. Very relaxing space with lovely ambiance, I wish I'd had time to return before we left! Tasty Corner was an amazing find, children of all boards can eat for free there from 11am every day (snacks, lunch and dinner provided). This was the best find of our holiday - both boys loved the food and we discovered some new things they love eating which we have gone on to buy since getting home! Especial shout out to the really lovely staff there who were super friendly, and even made some baby food especially for our youngest on one occasion :) it was a lovely atmosphere, very clean, and a highlight of our day wandering up. They also had kids sized toilets which were very useful! Special shout out to the kids entertainers as well - our eldest was especially taken with some of the evening shows. Most visitors seemed to be Czech, French or Italian but there was plenty going on in English so he didn't feel left out. Only downside was the extend to which the beach was pebbly. I would say swim shoes are a necessity rather than a nice-to-have, as we found barefoot walking very painful. This also put paid to our sandcastle dreams, so I would bare this in mind if you are looking for a soft sand beach. All in all, a lovely introduction to one of our favourite holiday destinations for our kids and somewhere I would recommend to any family looking for an easy and restful break in the Greek sunshine."

Pidän myös siitä, että kasvit kasvavat täällä niin huolellisesti, kukkimisesta varjoon. Näin myös pieniä kasveja vastaanotto - kasvihoitola. Ei ole mitään pelkoa tulevaisuudesta tämän hotellin ja sen henkilöstön - onnittelut ja kaikki parhaat ! Toivon palaavan pian;))"
