Begeti Bay Hotel

Arriving very late in the evening, we were welcomed by Costas, we had food ad drinks awaiting us. We were shown to our spacious room which was very clean with a welcoming gift of wine and snacks. Our room was positioned above the main entrance where we had views of their garden where they grew their own produce and a gorgeous view of the sea. All staff were extremely helpful and friendly, in particular Melina and Nicky in the restaurant, they welcomed each day with a lovely smile and conversation, both are a real asset to the hotel. Our all inclusive drinks were served by the lovely, funny and friendly Hunter. The pool area was clean with plenty of beds in different areas and the choice to step down to the private small beach. If you are looking for a nice quiet relaxing holiday then this is the hotel for you! The hotel does not have much in the way of entertainment, but that didn't bother us as it was the relaxation that we were looking for. The food was nice and plenty to choose from. This was a very pleasant holiday with a family feel and we definitely hope to revisit next year.

We stayed in Begeti Bay for a week. As much as the staff were lovely, the rooms were really not up to scratch and we were heavily disappointed with them. Not cleaned properly, and not too sure on the situation with towels and bedding as these were changed randomly. The food was average, ok but no flavour, and they weren’t covered so most of it had been sat on by flies. The all inclusive cocktails were hit and miss, if they weren’t all based with Ouzo it would have been better. Entertainment was lacking, ideally it should’ve been every night. The Greek night was the best night and the beach bar was great that night (their cocktails are much better). Location didn’t really bother us, we were well aware it wasn’t central to Rethynmo and the bus/taxi service was easy to use. Aside from that, you can’t fault the staff & service, but I probably wouldn’t return.

For a basic budget holiday, it's ideal, you get what you pay for. The hotel is basic but clean with really friendly staff. my onely faults would be that the food is very very basic with not much choice and pretty much the same every day for lunch an dinner and the same breakfasts every day but was nice for what it was, I'm we just got fed up of eating the same thing. There is not much of a beach left anymore as it seams to of all eroded away and is now only about 15ft wide and very rocky even in to the sea, you will need swim shoes as there is no sand just rocks. The hotel itself is at the very end of a bay with nothing else really around apart from 2 shops and local independent restaurant which I really wouldn't recommend. You will need to either take the bus witch is about a 10 minute walk to the bus stop or its a good 45+ plus walk to anything else, I would highly recommend hiring a car, but there is a place just a 10 minute walk from the hotel, we paid 100€ for 3 days and without that car would would of just been stuck at the hotel so would of gone mad as nothing to do at all. But we booked the hotel last minute and for cheap so we got what we paid for.
