Avra Private Suites

We stayed at Avra Private Suites at the end of June 2024 for 6 nights and it was simply magical! We are still dreaming about it and probably will continue to dream about it until we return! Our room's large terrace faced the incredibly water/beach, which we soaked up every day. The room itself was well-appointed and the air conditioning worked very well (which, as a reader of this review, may be of value). The grounds were stunning but perhaps the most notable aspect of this incredible place was the staff. Yes, for starters, Maria is so welcoming and helpful with all things. But the morning breakfast served on our terrace was brought to us by the most lovely woman, who made the delicious breakfast every day. We still talk about those breakfasts--which unlike a lot of Greek hotels--was different every morning and tailored to our tastes and preferences! The property is walking distance to the beachy town--where you can eat dinner at Nefeli (yum) or shop for needed items at any one of the several stores. Last but not least, we went to the same beach every day because it was that phenomenal. All we had to do was exit our suite and take some stairs down to a stunning sandy beach with chairs for rent. We loved Kefalonia so much but our stay at Avra was a very big part of that love. WE WILL RETURN!!!

This place is truly beautiful- the spacious accommodation with comphy beds, balcony with a sea view, the service, the breakfast, the pool with soft sunbeds, the beachfront location, amazing views! Everything is so well organised and thought of to give you the best holiday experience you only could dream of. Delicious breakfast is served on your balcony at your preferred time. The tableware, fresh flowers every day and so much attention to detail! Beach bags, beach towels! Cold beer and wine in your fridge. Very calm, friendly atmosphere! Thank you very much for making our holiday experience so special! Thank you so much to Maria and her amazing staff - Mirela, Irene and Adriana for looking after us. We had a wonderful, truly wonderful holiday!

Definitely 5/5 stars - I’d give more if I could. Incredible experience and I can’t recommend it highly enough! Location - it’s a 2-3 minute walk down to Makris Gialos Beach, which is an absolutely stunning beach. The view is also fantastic from the hotel. The garden is absolutely incredible - fig, pomegranate, lemon, lime trees, tomatoes, flowers, beautiful. It’s tough to find a better surrounding for any hotel anywhere. Breakfast - delicious and thoughtful - always prepared fresh that morning, with local recipes and every day it was a new salty, respectively a new sweet dish. Also served with coffee, bread, homemade jams etc. It was served outside of the room at a very nice table. Cleanliness - excellent. No complaints whatsoever. Everything was perfectly clean. Amenities - Very nice pool with lots of sun-beds (tip: very good, free alternative to the sun-beds down at the beach). Hospitality - Probably should’ve put this first - Maria, the owner, and the lovely ladies that prepared the breakfast and the rooms were incredible thorough our stay, always helpful, always kind. Can’t wait to visit again next year!

Wat een geweldig verblijf! Aanrader op alle fronten. Ontbijt nog nooit eerder zo ervaren. Ligging fantastisch. Super bedden. Wij hadden het penthouse, de gehele bovenste etage van het mooie huis. Alles heel schoon . Enige puntje (omdat we met 7 personen waren, was er maar 1 douche. Wel 3 badkamers, maar 1 met jacuzzi, 1 met bad en dus 1 met douche. Maar verder top top top! En komen graag weer terug!

We stayed at the end of September in Alia, the Junior Suite with Side Sea View. The room was spacious and homely, and extremely clean. We loved having our breakfast served outside and could not believe the level of flavour, variety and presentation, and it was just so lovely each morning to sit and listen to the waves. The pool area is great with views of the beach and sea below. Bliss! Makris Gialos beach is less than 5 minutes away, and is so beautiful. We loved the the Costa Costa side and spent some very chilled out time there swimming in the gorgeous turquoise sea, laying on the sunbed and enjoying cocktails. Returning to the suite was always a pleasure and it was a superb place to enjoy the sunset, either from the pool or a quick walk down to the beach. It was nice to feel secluded and away from it all, even though the Lassi bars and tavernas were a gentle stroll away. I'm not one for returning to the same place, but would I stay here again? Yes yes yes! The the lovely staff, the feel of the place, the pool, proximity to the beach, the sunsets, the breakfasts... it all made for a super special place to stay. Thank you!

This was our much anticipated second visit to this beautiful resort and again, the service was exceptional. Friendly, professional and kind at every level. Sadly, we were here during the terrible storm which obviously marred our holiday somewhat but service with smiles carried on regardless, in truly challenging conditions. Special shout out to George in the bar who was great fun and a real asset. The photographs of this place are beautiful and it 100% measures up. Everything is beautifully designed and the atmosphere is very chill. The GM is a constant presence (great to see) and the whole team bend over backwards to welcome you. Don't hesitate to book. Tips; *take extra hangers if you're going for a while *replacement coffee pods now free *beach bag now provided*Umi restaurant at sister resort next door is worth a visit. They'll take you by buggy.
