After driving down a nearly impassable narrow road from Archidonas we arrived at the Kuyana Amazon Lodge and it was like entering paradise. We were met by our guide Miguel who attended to our every need for the three days we were there. We were served traditional native welcome tea when we arrived after which we were escorted to our cabin. The cabin was beautiful and very clean and well supplied including drinking water, shampoo and a hairdryer. The staff cleans the cabin every morning. The meals, which were local cuisine, were very tasty and beautifully presented. Our guide explained each meal to us. One evening we were able to prepare our own dinner, tilapia wrapped in a banana leaf. We prepared cocoa beans, cooked them and enjoyed them for dessert. The tours offered were well worth it. The hike to the waterfall was wonderful and the swim was refreshing. Our guide was very knowledgeable as well as personable and engaging. I recommend the night tour where you encounter Amazon creatures you’d never come across during the day. At night the jungle comes alive with so many interesting sounds. The pool is clean and refreshing. We fell in love with Ramona, the rescue monkey that lives at the lodge. She is so entertaining and a lot of fun to have around. Our time at Kuyana Amazon Lodge was one of the highlights of our vacation.

What a fantastic experience! From the moment we were greeted until the moment we left, everything was fantastic. Our daily guide, Miguel, couldn’t have been better. He was easy going, knowledgeable, helpful and fun to talk to. The food was delicious at every meal, without exception. The cabins and grounds are comfortable and inviting. The surrounding jungle is beautiful. We took a rafting trip, arranged through Kuyana, which was exciting and beautiful. I highly recommend the rafting trip. We were fortunate enough to meet the owner, Ivan, and enjoy good conversation with him before we left.

The property was fine, food okay, but honestly the communication from the owners was lacking. We were there under an all inclusive package over new year,s and were repeatedly asked to upgrade another $60 per person for their new year's activities. It wasn't our thing, and we said no multiple times, but eventually felt pressured into it. They provided us with a written explanation of a full day of "new year's" activities that didn't make sense because we already had all of our meals and activities planned for, not that it mattered anyway because none of it happened. By 8:30 pm on the 31st, not one thing was offered to us as communicated, and we were never told that after a busy day, our dinner wouldn't be until 10 pm. We, along with another guest fought this and were finally served food and not charged the ridiculous uncharge fee for an event that seemed nonexistent. The guides we had from the beginning were fired, blamed for the poor communication from management and we had new guides the next day. The entire experience was a black smudge on our Ecuadorian adventure.

I couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful experience in the beautiful Amazon jungle! The lodge and rooms are incredibly beautiful, spacious, private and personal. The food, the staff, the service, the warm welcoming, the amazing guide Edison, the activities; all perfect. And, I had the unique luxury of having it all to myself. Now, all I can think of is when to come back. Thank you so much for making my first visit to the Amazon’s so special!

We really enjoyed the personal guide thru out our entire time. Edison answered any questions and was so knowledgeable about the area and rain forest The lodge itself was beautiful and clean. Food was delicious and staff so very friendly. Don’t think twice. Just go

Kuyana is a hidden gem in the jungle of Ecuador. We were welcomed by our guide Edison and Ramona(the monkey). Edison was with us our entire stay making sure we were always taken care of and sharing all the wonderful secrets of the area surrounding Kuyana. He definitely made it an extra special experience. We were fed the freshest food and really enjoyed the atmosphere. Rooms were clean and spacious. We were lucky to have the owners Ivo and Lu share their vision for the place and their knowledge of the Ecuadorian jungle. Would love to come back with the family.

We had high expectations coming here. They were exceeded.. Before even arriving, the communication with Maria on WhatsApp was sincere and thorough. She was very patient with my many questions. Opting for the white water rafting experience package and arriving from the river was amazing. The place exudes relaxation and the lodge buildings all integrate into the natural environment well without dominating. All the staff worked hard and seemed positive, for example, the kitchen staff could be heard singing on several days. The food is outstanding with no issues for vegetarians. Edison, our guide for all the experiences during the four days we stayed, was equally outstanding. His knowledgeable, compassionate and caring attitude really helped make our experiences memorable and was one of the best guides we have ever had. Marcello, our driver from Quito to the lodge and back, was also a great skilled driver who also had great recommendations for lunch stops. Hot water wasn’t always available, but we didn’t care this place was a highlight in Ecuador. Highly Recommend.

This is a perfect place to get a taste of the Amazon in comfort. We were picked up from our hotel in Quito and the drive took about 3 1/2 hours. Our room was very clean and the bed was super comfortable. There is no a.c however there is a overhead fan. The pool is unheated but it feels so nice to cool off that you really wouldn't want it to be. The food was great and there was plenty. I'd say the fresh fruit and juice were the highlights but it was all good. I recommend doing the rafting option as it was a blast. There was only one other couple on site when my husband I were there so it was very quiet, however there is no soundproofing in the rooms so if they are booked and the people in the next room are noisy there might be a problem. There is a onsite tame monkey. She is adorable but does like to climb on you if you're not careful. It was a wonderful stay and I'm glad my husband and I had the chance.
