Dormio Resort les Portes du Grand Massif

Séjour en famille, en janvier 2022.le site est très beau, c'est le 1 complexe en arrivant a flaine, donc le plus éloigné de la station. Petite surprise en arrivant a la réception, l'accueil ne parle pas un mot de français (et oui flaine est remplie de hollandais). Les appartements sont spacieux, petit bémol eau et chauffage sont extrêmement difficiles a régler et les canapés un peu usées.la piscine est tres bien, bonne température, un sauna, un hammam et un jacuzzi mais qui ne marche pas. Nous n'avons pas tester le restaurant, mais a chaque fois que nous sommes passés devant celui ci était complètement vide. L'accès aux pistes et situé en face du complexe, mais le retour ce fait obligatoirement en navette (souvent bondé et temps d'attentes tres long). Pour le soir obligé de prendre la voiture pour ce rendre a la station, qui est de plus sans voiture (personne dans les rues et pas un bruit).

Separate building to the resort Be careful booking this location the room and resort were great but our building was under separate ownership which meant it was fully self catered the there were no towels no sheets for the beds only the duvet and pillows which were stained and not pleasant to sleep on. We found a cockroach in one of the kitchen appliances and there was no way of getting service from reception as they had nothing to do with the building/room. Be careful staying here

Stayed half board in 3 bed apartment with 3 friends. Loads of space, well equipped, amazing views of Flaine Ski Resort from balcony. Breakfast was superb self service buffet with plenty of choice. Dinner was good. Three courses. Drinks to pay for. Bus service great. Not an apres type town but we weren’t after that anyway. Highly recommended. Would love to return.

On avait pris une location pour 4… on a mis 3 etoiles meme si j’aurais mis 3.5, surtout pour le prix excessif par rapport aux prestations. Positives: - espace spa plutot calme et agreable - appartement plutot propre et agréable - parking payant pratique. - soirées plutôt tranquille (ce qui peut être négatif pour d’autres) - le bus pratique pour monter au dessus pour ski de fond et marches, et pour descendre a la station et aux pistes - location ski2000 sur site. Pratique Négatifs: - tres excentré du centre. A part 2 restos autour, il faut prendre la voiture, mais on se gare facilement et gratuitement le soir. - appartement non préparé pour 4 personnes a l’arrivée. N’ayant pas remarqué avant la fermeture du bureau, on a du dormir sans drap dans le clicclac… dommage. - fournitures pour vaisselle etc… tres limité. 3 pastilles lave-vaisselle et un rouleau de papier toilette… c’est radin pour un appart a plus de 2000 euros la semaine… -organisation des poubelles sans aucune indication claire pour le tri. La plupart des gens mettait n’importe quoi dedans le recyclable ce qui veut dire qu’a la fin, rien ne pourra être trié

I stayed with a friend and his two grown up lads in a 3 bedroom apartment which was perfect for our group. We had great views of the whole resort bowl and the golf course behind. Snow conditions permitting, it was ‘ski-out’ using a path just across the road that connected to pistes lower down in resort. Be careful of rocks here as the snow melts! The resort is definitely not ‘ski-in’ as stated, as there are no lifts or pistes above it. The location is isolated as the free ski bus stops by around 1830 and there are no public taxis in Flaine. The walk back from the centre would be difficult in ski boots as it is essentially 3km up the steep winding public road. Après-ski therefore is limited but there is a supermarket within about a 15m walk and a decent restaurant (Ancolie) with 24hr pizza vending machine outside less than 10mins walk! Booked on half-board terms through SunWeb, we had access to the restaurant for breakfast and dinner. However because it was very quiet, food items were reused from day to day including the hot breakfast buffet which was reheated still in its serving tray from the day before. This included the boiled eggs, sausage and bacon which concerned me in terms of food hygiene. The restaurant was closed one night due to staffing issues. We were given good warning of this and offered an Italian takeaway delivered to our apartment with wine, which we found perfectly acceptable. On the whole food was good, often traditional Savoyard fayre and definitely couldn’t complain about portion size! The resort has a great spa, pool and gym with floor to ceiling Mountain View’s that will help revive weary limbs after a hard day’s skiing! On balance the resort gives you more independence from a traditional hotel with the benefit of half board if required. There is a bar with a large lounge and pool table. Opening hours are limited, there is no lounge service outside of these. Guests would definitely benefit if Dormio ran a subsided shuttle to the centre, or even a free one as offered by other hotels in the resort!

Mooi, ruim en rustig appartement (enkel 's morgens vroeg wakker door de sneeuwruimers). Aangename hamam en sauna (enkel jammer dat de jacuzzi het niet deed). Zeer aangenaam onthaald door het personeel! Vreemd dat zo weinig mensen kozen voor de half pension formule. Wij hebben genoten van de ontbijten en de 3 gangen menuutjes 's avonds (je kan trouwens ook gewoon à la carte eten in het restaurant). Op 1 of 2 details na, was elke maaltijd om de vingers af te likken. Bediening, of ze nu franstalig was of hollands, was top. Via een wegje aan de overkant van de baan, kom je op een groene piste terecht (wel enkel bij voldoende sneeuw). Terugkeren doe je met de plaatselijke skibus en die kwam op één keer na steeds binnen de 5 à 10 minuten. Top weekje gehad!
