Curazao Hotel -Centro Histórico-

Nice boutique hotel in the delightful colonial centre of Santa Fe, Antioquia. Found this hotel on a spur of the moment itinerary change from Jardin to Santa Fe, chosen because it offered free parking... which it does, it's just quite a trek away, uphill, a steep hill. Parking can be found closer to the hotel, at a cost. Didn't find out how much, but if you're feeling lazy... The hotel reception is a simple desk in a corner of what doubles up as reception, quite simple and unpretentious. Rooms began on ground floor and spread over 3 floors. Most rooms are windowless, but have A/C and en suite. Beds & pillows are comfy. The pool area is serviced and kept clean, after a nice warm day the pool water is a really nice temperature, but use the jacuzzi first, it's in the shade, so is colder, making the pool warmer. Breakfast is filling enough, but Colombian hotels (at the budget end) don't do much in the way of variety, maybe 4 or 5 different ways of serving eggs. We stayed 2 nights, and I wish we'd stayed longer here.

Upon arrival which was 3:30 pm they said they did not have the room we reserved. Looked at the room they wanted to give us and was the size of a postage stamp. Said was unacceptable. Took a while and the gave us an upgraded room at the price quoted. Now very upgraded. Size was better with sliding glass doors but doors would not lock. NO hot water in any of the rooms. Shower head broken and laying on the shower floor. We did not see that until in the morning when going to shower. Reported it at 8:30am and they said would be fixed. It wasn't by the time we returned. Bed pillows have plastic coverings under the pillow case. Not comfortable at all. Very inflexible about included breakfast. If you want mushrooms and onions you pay extra for 1 items. They have tomatoes and onions. Why can I have mushrooms and onions. Other than that breakfast was good. Pool was nice although cold. I could go on. Never stay here again. Internet was include but I could connect with my new phone. Even down on main level internet was slooow.
