Hostal de La Fuente

The location, breakfast and dinner was nice and the volunteers were super friendly!! But that was about it.. The hostel was the dirtiest hostel we stayed in 3 month of travelling Central America. There only where 3 toilets and 3 shower for 30 people and during Christmas season the bathrooms were not even cleaned daily! The towels in the kitchen and the bathroom have not been changed once in 7 days that we stayed there and already developed a strong smell. The ceilings in the bathroom were moldy and also the floor in the common areas were so dirty you could not walk around in socks or barefoot. The dorms only had indoor windows and the only fresh air came through the main door (which was closed at night) and the rooftop. Our private room had no windows at all - instead through the ventilation system, bad air from the bathroom was blown into the room. We also booked a transport with them to the airport at the middle of the night, wich did not show up. After 1 hour waiting outside with no support from the hostel, we called an Uber. We did not receive our money back until now. The good reviews are mostly because they offer a free beer for a good review!

5 stars. Great location, great staff, comfortable beds and very affordable. Delicious breakfast and dinner complimentary with stay. The first stay I was in the pod beds which were quiet, and dark leading to a great night of rest. Overall this has been my favorite hostel in Antigua and I would recommend to any budget travelers.

Wir haben uns in dem Hostel sehr wohlgefühlt. Es gibt leckeres Essen, eine Dachterrasse und ein wirklich liebes Team. Außerdem ist das kostenlose Frühstück und Abendessen lecker und lädt dazu ein andere Backpacker easy kennenzulernen. Vielen Dank :)

This hostel is cool, great seating area, comfy bed, nice bathrooms, tasty breakfast and dinner provided, board games and a rooftop patio, what more could you want? They also have a little in-house store and activities in the evening most nights of the week.

beds are so soft and location is great! We stayed here for the flower festival and it was the perfect place to rest our heads. The staff were very nice and the bathrooms were squeaky clean. Would stay again and would recommend! great place to stay

I HIGHLY recommend this hostal if you're staying in Antigua. The beds are so comfortable and they each come with their own fan, light and outlet. The facilities and common area were kept pretty clean. The staff are super friendly and helpful. I loved that it's like a family environment. They plan activities like movie nights and there are often people playing games in the evening. So you can choose to keep to yourself or socialize. And the food is some of the best food I've had at a hostal so far. Antigua is a pretty walkable city and I had no issues getting to the main attractions/food places from here. Overall, a great stay.
