Antigonish Victorian Inn

Good location and good facility.

Comfortable rooms. The bed was great. I like the apartment at the back of the property. I also stayed in one of the upstairs room on another visit and it was also comfortable. The staff are thoughtful . Breakfast included is excellent. I will stay again. The Garden apartment has a full kitchen and sitting area.

We stayed 2 nights in the Brontë room. The bed was clean and comfortable, the bathroom was clean and there was no dust on the furniture. The concern was the dust bunnies and hair balls on the floor which appeared to have not been cleaned in some time. The mould around the bottom of the shower was apparently the result of a poor choice of sealant, according to my carpenter husband. The rest of the inn seemed to be in need of a general cleaning, more dust on the floors, just a dull, unkept appearance. In the dining room the cloth on the coffee table had not been changed, the webbed placemats seemed to not be cleaned between guests. The made to order breakfast was good, lukewarm the first day, better the second day. The outside deck and railings look shabby with dirt and peeling paint. There is beautiful park area in the back. This could be an amazing place with just a bit more attention.

We thought the inn it was cozy, clean, quiet, and breakfast was wonderful. Staff were courteous and polite. A very nice establishment situated in a beautiful town. A lovely Victorian building situated within walking distance of parks, restaurants, cafes, and quaint shops on Main Street, in Antigonish.

We stayed in the quiet garden suite located behind the Inn. The room looks a little tired, especially the window coverings. However the room was clean, bed and pillows comfortable. There is a microwave, fridge, coffee maker and coffee provided. The Inn had a menu for breakfast. We had bacon, eggs and toast which was good. The location is perfect with restaurants and stores within an easy walking distance. The young man who checked us in and served breakfast was friendly and efficient. If you are in Antigonish on a Saturday the market is a must.

The Antogonish Victorian Inn is a fabulous building with turn of century appointments and comfy beds and pillows. Amazing grounds. Helpful staff. Yummy breakfasts. We definitely will go back to this quaint town and special inn on the main street.

This place was terrible! Dirty room, dirty foyer, dirty sheets, dirty toilet and tub !!! Even the vent in the backroom had so much moldy dust that nothing could go through it. Everything about it was awful. It was too late to leave to find another place, otherwise we would have been out of there. It looks like it must have been good at one point, but, it isn't being taken care of.

Our accommodation "the Xavier" was a self contained one bedroom small cottage with full kitchen, would be ideal for a stay longer than one night. The mattress was very hard and uncomfortable. Somewhat outdated but good value compared to chain motel/hotel rates. Great location, walking distance to restaurants and local attractions. Proprietor was friendly and helpful.

The Inn is in need of some repairs eg the roller blinds were defective in our room. The staff were not very engaging. Apart from these everything was very good for a quirky older place. Good location central in town and close walking distance to some good restaurants. Parking and gardens were ample.
