La Paloma Hotel

Perhaps this is the best hotel in the old city. Located on a quiet street, but at the same time just a minute walk to bars, restaurants and everything you need! Excellent location, beautiful cozy hotel, I recommend it to everyone!

I really enjoyed staying at this hotel. All of the people involved in running the hotel are very friendly, approachable and helpful. I had a couple of minor issues on arrival and they were sorted out courteously and with minimum fuss. The location is mostly quiet but also a couple of minutes walk from great restaurants, bars, shops, tourist sites and public transport. Breakfast is typically Turkish with a variety of olives, cheese, green herbs, peppers, tasty dips, cereals, bread, jams and two hot dishes. This morning, for example, the hot dishes were menemen and borek. All in all a great hotel and highly recommended.

My experience in La Paloma was very mixed. We arrived fairly late after landing in Antalya airport at 21:30h. We took a taxi from the airport for 50TL. As we reached the hotel, the receptionist was busy with other customers so we waited 20 minutes to be served. We were basically given the last room available in the annex building which was a massive downside. The night receptionist did almost not speak english and we could barely understand each other. The room was absolutely nothing like what we saw on the hotel pictures. We couldn’t even open the suitcases and the bathroom was so tiny that you could barely wash your teeth. There was also a red mark on the wall by the bed. The next morning after discussing the whole checkin experience with the manager we were given an actual room in the paloma building ( as the other one was owned by the same person but was an annex building) and the rest of the stay was good. He was friendly and helped us with our queries. Breakfast is ok but not what you will call a continental breakfast. The rooms were not extremely cleaned. The location of the hotel is really good if you want to be by the old town. Lots of bars and nightlife around the hotel. The common areas are nice with a small but clean swimming pool and shower facilities and restrooms. Overall the experience in La Paloma was good.

I had a GF room, the only one alongside the pool area. The room, 104, is a 3 bed with 1 queen and 1 single. We were only two so the room was plenty big enough. It has ac, a fridge, kettle and small settee. No real issues with the bedroom but the bathroom is why we decided to move after the two nights, which we had booked. The bathroom is in need of some serious attention. The problem is mainly around the bath, which is probably a retro fit. The tiling is not good and badly affected by damp and mould. The shower head sprayed sideways (something wrong with the head) so there was very little water coming out. The toilet seat has come away from its fixtures. We booked the room as a last minute and it was possibly the only room that was left but that is no excuse to rent a room which is not fit for occupation. The room, being the only one by the pool, has a disadvantage. When the sun beds are laid out after breakfast, two are placed directly outside the door to the room. Its not very nice having somebody looking into your room every time you open the door and then you have to squeeze past them which is not easy with luggage. Do they really need to put beds there? Perhaps the manager will reply by saying that I did not complain when I was there. My answer to that would be that the bathroom could not be restored while we were there and my moving from this hotel to the Urca for the last 3 days can be taken as my way of complaining- with my departure. I cant comment on the other rooms but there was a group leaving at the same time as us who were also very dissatisfied. The hotel owner needs to heed these complaints and rectify the problems and not rent the rooms out to paying guests until they are repaired.

Staff was nice. Breakfast was okay. Room service not great. No elevators/lift. Lighting was very dark.
