Mitsis Cretan Village

We stayed at Mitsis Cretan Village in June 2025. While the setting itself is pleasant and the resort has a family-friendly layout, our experience was overshadowed by a troubling situation and poor communication from staff. The hotel has a designated cat feeding area which many guests — including children — engage with. During our stay, we came across a mother cat with three very young kittens in that area. One kitten had sadly passed away overnight. I reported this, but the deceased kitten remained there the next day. Soon after, all three kittens disappeared at once, leaving the mother cat behind and visibly distressed. We followed up with hotel staff but received vague and inconsistent explanations, and no clear answer about what had happened. Although I hope the kittens were taken to safety, the lack of transparency and follow-through left us feeling very uneasy. Additionally, the pool near our room discoloured several items of white swimwear with a yellow stain — similar to discoloration visible around the pool edge. Despite reporting this and offering to provide photo evidence, we received no resolution. We’ve previously stayed at other Mitsis hotels and expected a higher standard of guest care. This experience has made us reconsider returning to the brand. I hope the hotel takes guest concerns more seriously in the future and communicates more clearly, especially when it involves visible issues affecting families.

We made a very last minute booking due to a change of travel plans thanks to French air traffic control strikes. Despite this the hotel were ready for us and welcomed us warmly. Service - exceptionally friendly and helpful, what a great team - it's evident that guest experience is really important here. The entertainment team try really hard to get people involved without crossing the line into being a nuisance. The lady in the main pool bar is lovely, but so overworked; she's always patient and friendly despite the queues, so please make life easier for her and the guests by allocating an extra bar person! Room - we were in section 5, this was away from the pools and beach so nice and quiet. As a bonus, I could see if the gym was busy just by looking out of the window! Beds were comfortable and AC really effective. Cleaning was to a good standard and toiletries were nice, even though the bottles were in a weird order and couldn't be reshuffled. We had one armchair in the room even though there was plenty of room for a small 2 seater sofa - it would have been good to be able to sit somewhere other than on the bed. Food - as a vegetarian and a pescatarian, we always found plenty to choose from and foods were well labelled. The buffet dishes were replenished often, always nice and hot, and mostly cooked in front of you. At times, we found dishes unpleasantly salty, especially some vegetable dishes like the fried mushrooms and sliced carrots. Staff cleared tables promptly. It would be good to replace the thousands of plastic water bottles they must get through each week with reusable glass bottles of water on each table, or a water dispenser from which we could fill glasses. Proper mugs like the ones in the room instead of tiny cups would also be an improvement for tea and coffee. Facilities - we used mainly the pool and gym, finding the beach too steep and stony. There were always plenty of sunbeds. The towel counter is a source of frustration, located well down the beach front and with limited opening hours. This made it a challenge to stick to our preferred schedule and often meant that we were waiting for the counter to reopen at 3pm so that we could have clean towels ready for the next morning. It would be much easier for guests if there was also a counter at the pool and at least one counter was open 9-5. The gym equipment is OK, treadmills seem quite old and the AC isn't quite having the required impact for running. Gym opening hours could also be extended, eg from 6am not 7am. Location - about 25 minutes from Heraklion. There isn't much around, but the views are lovely and the Spar shop just outside is a useful addition to the hotel shop. Lots of tours will pick up from here if you want to explore - we did a full day trip to Agios Nikolaos, Elounda and Spinalonga through the GetYourGuide app. Value - all inclusive package was good value and we especially appreciated the hotel's truly 24 hour approach, meaning that we had full access t

Große und saubere Anlage! Zauberhafter Strand ! Super Wasser . Die Leute teilen sich gut auf.saubere Zimmer. Das Personal sowie die Animateure sind super freundlich . Essen gibt es ausreichend,alles was das Herz begehrt. Betten und decken sind halt nicht so wie zu Hause aber da kann man verkraften. Ganz besonders schöne Abende hatten wir auf der Poolbar mit Blick auf den Sonnenuntergang und durften hier einen äußert herzlichen Barkeeper namens Nagy kennenlernen! Er leistet hier abends wirklich eine Menge und das großteils alleine und trotzdem zaubert er einem noch immer ein lächeln ins Gesicht !!! Ein toller Mensch ! Und auch an die nette Dame Irina aus der beach Bar welche auch immer überaus freundlich war . Alles in allem ein toller Urlaub ! 👍🏼

We spent eight wonderful days at this hotel. The service was exceptionally friendly, from the reception desk, through the restaurant, the entertainment staff, and even the cleaning staff. Ms. Bianca took wonderful outdoor photos for us, for which we sincerely thank her and highly recommend her. She's a wonderful person, cheerful, smiling, and open. We'll remember this vacation fondly and for a long time.

Prestations de l'hôtel très satisfaisantes, le personnel est aimable et souriant. Il est extrêmement propre avec ces dames qui sont dès le matin à nettoyer l ensemble du complexe hôtelier. Chambres très bien entretenues,mini bar gratuit et recharger tout les deux jours, j'ai rarement vu cela dans les hôtels, Coffre gratuit, linges changés tout les deux jours si l on souhaite ,serviettes plage en chambre dès notre arrivée. Pas de guerre de transats même mi-juillet 😉 Au niveaux des prestations cuisine varié même si cela peut être redondant si vous restez + de 10/12 jours.
