Boutique Hotel the River House

We stayed there for a ski-weekend for two nights and we where impressed, what they made out of this house. Inside renovation with the hotelrooms (not to big and high but super nice and cozy) and the bar (or restaurant, depending on the day-time) and the breakfast area , all tiny with a good concept and nice owners who run that place. Here you can stay and enjoy the old town from Andermatt in a nice hotel, on the river and in walking distance to all what you need (winter and summer time). I can recommend your stay there.

Die Zimmer sind sauber, die Lage des Hotels ist gut (in der nähe einer Shuttlestation, die einen ins Skigebiet bringt). Allerdings ist das Hotel eher Hellhörig und die Gäste der Bar/Restaurant sind teilweise extrem laut (betrunkene Engländer und co.).

Cozy, family run hotel (with a very cute house dog). Small but comfy and clean rooms, and close to slopes. Great food and drinks in the bar downstairs. Would definitely stay again.

Der Barbetrieb besticht durch die grosse Auswahl an Drinks welche vom Chef mit Team stielvoll serviert werden. Familiäre Atmosphäre, perfektes Designe im sehr stielvoll restaurierten Haus,

I booked the top floor room in the attic - on reflection, if I were to do it again, I would choose a lower floor. The ceiling is very low in places and it took two bumps to my head before I learned not to walk in parts of the room. It’s nicely appointed though. If you do end up in room 8 - a tip if you are on the right side of the bed under the low ceiling - get out of the bed at the foot where the ceiling is higher, not to the side! Breakfast was buffet style and we found plenty to eat. If you have a car, the reserved spaces we were sent to were in a very tight garage a couple of levels below grade. You may want to walk it and find the spot before just driving in. There is a traffic light system to stop you going down the ramp when someone else is coming up. Also be aware that there is no elevator and you will need to carry your bags up. It’s a good hotel with friendly owners and staff right by the river in the middle of town. When we visited in September their bar was closed. We enjoyed a traditional Swiss fondue at the Hotel Sonne restaurant down the street.

Nice and cozy hotel in Andermatt Really cozy hotel, Great atmosphere, super friendly and helpfull staff. We would certainly recommend this place.
