Anaxos Garden

Recently had a lovely weeks stay at Anaxos Gardens. Family of 4 (children 7&9years). Our first time to Lesvos but we’ve been to a number of Greek islands before. The accommodation suited us perfectly. We were expecting just one room but we had an apartment with 2 sofa bed type single beds and an additional bedroom with a double bed in. Basic (as we always expect on our self-catering Greek holidays) but everything we needed in the room. Room was kept clean, bins and towels changed regularly. The only thing that was missing was a tea towel and a dustpan and brush so we could have swept the patio floor if any food was dropped. Air con was brilliant (I think we paid around €49 for this when we arrived for the week)-I think some of the other apartments have slightly older models of air con that didn’t work as well as ours. The apartments are set out in a few blocks and there are lovely plants and trees around that make the setting beautiful. Pool clean and we always got a sunbed whatever time of day we turned up. Pool bar reasonably priced and serve a lovely gyros for only a few euros! Location is ideal- Supermarkets, plenty of tavernas and beach all a short walk away. The nearby beach is coarse sand, lots of bars and tavernas along the beach that have sun beds you can use if you are buying drinks/food from them. If it’s not cloudy you can sit at one of the tavernas to watch the sunset. All the food and drinks seem just a little cheaper than in the other areas of Greece we have recently visited. We used the street train one day to explore a bit further afield, we also took a pedalo boat out a couple of days which our kids loved. There were a few more water sports available from the stall on the beach as well. There were a few people staying at Anaxos gardens who have been coming repeatedly for years which shows how highly both the apartments and the area are rated by those who visit! We had a great family holiday, feel we struck lucky as it was exactly what we hoped and more!

Net terug van anaxos garden. Douche op begane grond was drama, water kwam uit putjes omhoog en alles stond blank. Totaal geen druk. Kit was helemaal stuk bij douchebak. Gerenoveerd stond er, nou ik denk bij de Engelse bejaarden die er veel en lang zijn daar, claimen elke ochtend ook 8 a 10 ligbedden en gaan weer op bed of liggen eerst bij het strand. Dan mogen mensen van hotels zonder zwembad hier ook zwemmen, blijven er niet veel ligbedden over van de 24. Eten prima bij de bar alleen prijzen van drinken hoger dan bij een restaurant. Schoonmaak eerste 4 dagen vergeten denk ik, heb 4e dag aangegeven en eigenaar schreeuwde wat naar schoonmaakster, sindsdien was het goed. Al met al is het een prima plek als douche opgeknapt zou worden en die bejaarde Engelsen mooi in verzorgingshuis gingen of iig geen handdoekje meer gingen leggen, jammer dat eigenaar hier niks aan doet. Zwembad prima en de meiden achter bar ook.

Anaxos Garden is een mooi complex in het groen. De appartementen (wij hadden een 3 persoons appartement)zijn ruim, voorzien van een groot balkon, grote badkamer, zeer goede bedden en een complete keuken. Kom je iets tekort of heb je iets nodig dan wordt het zo voor je geregeld. Voor ontbijt kun je kiezen uit een keuzemenu van 5 ontbijtjes. Dus geen uitgebreid ontbijtbuffet maar voor ons was het absoluut meer dan voldoende en lekker. Strand, minimarkets, bakker, tavernes, etc…. alles ligt op loopafstand. We hebben bij verschillende tavernes gegeten. Allemaal goed. In de avond dineren tijdens de ondergaande zon is geweldig. Want iedere avond word je op het strand getrakteerd op een prachtige zonsondergang. Verwacht geen bruisend nachtleven in Anaxos. Om 23.00u wordt het snel heel rustig op dit idillische plekje. Voor meer vertier of nachtleven moet je naar Petra of Molivos. Het huren van een auto is aan te bevelen als je de rest van het eiland wil verkennen. Dat is zeker de moeite waard want Lesbos is een prachtig, authentiek, groen, ruig, maar nog steeds ondergewaardeerd, eiland waar veel is te zien en beleven. Wederom hebben wij genoten van dit prachtige eiland. Wij komen zeker weer terug in Anaxos Garden en Lesbos.

Just got home after a three week stay. This place is great. Rooms are spotless, as is the whole place. Friendly owners and a great BBQ on the Sunday. Short walk to the beach Been there four times now and have already booked three weeks next June! Highly recommended.

On arriving at the hotel it wasn't obvious where reception was so we entered the bar area. We were greeted by a lady, she didn't smile or welcome us, she just asked for our surname and lead us to our room. Not the most welcoming start to our holiday. However the room itself was perfect. Very clean, comfy beds, balcony overlooking the pool. No complaints at all with the room. Was a 5 min walk to supermarket and the beach, location was perfect. We didn't stay round the pool as much prefer the beach but it was a lovely looking pool area and popular with guests. Aircon was only €7 per day which is very reasonable, and a new aircon unit by the look of it. Would definitely stay here again despite the lack of warmth from the owners!

A nice quiet hotel with a lovely pool, the apartments were clean and very comfortable. We had snacks here that were ok but we had a pizza and it was not good unless you liked tomato ketchup. We had no help when we checked in so had a problem carrying luggage up steep stairs.
