We had another wonderful weekend getaway at the charming Hill Fort - Kesroli. A special thanks to the staff, especially Chef Vikas Sharma and his team, for their exceptional food, attentive service, and warm hospitality. However, one area that could benefit from improvement is the pre-visit reservation experience. We had booked a "Heritage Royal" suite for a family of 4 adults well in advance through an online travel portal, and when we contacted the reservations desk the day before check-in to request a last-minute addition to the guest list (with the understanding that any additional charges would be settled at check-in), our request was outright declined. The team cited the fort's policy but did not offer any explanation or rationale for why an extra adult couldn't be accommodated with extra payment, nor did they make an effort to reassure us or suggest a mutually acceptable solution. When we reached a point of desperation and asked what could be done to avoid leaving anyone behind or cancelling our plans altogether, we were simply advised to book an additional room for the extra guest. I believe the reservation team would benefit from training in customer-centricity, particularly in explaining the rationale behind certain seemingly rigid policies of the heritage property, focusing on solutions rather than problems, and handling special requests with a more tactful and considerate approach. This would go a long way in enhancing the overall guest experience.
