Pestana Alvor Park Suites Hotel

Having read many positive reviews, I was expecting more from this hotel and was left disappointed. Pros: Our room had one bedroom and a sitting area with a pull-out sofa, a kitchen and 2 bathrooms. It was very spacious and, as a family of 4, we had ample space. Also the location was good, close to the town and lots of restaurants. The breakfast was decent and we all enjoyed it. Cons: while the hotel was very clean, we had cockroaches in our bathroom. We reported it twice and while reception said that the room would be deep cleaned, it didn't seem as if anything extra was done to sort out the problem.Also neither management nor reception staff ever approached us to ask if the problem had been resolved. They didn't seem to care at all. All the while, I was uncomfortable walking around without shoes and while in bed and in the bathroom, afraid that I would encounter more of these little creatures,. The other issue with the hotel was the indoor pool area. I had booked this hotel with the indoor swimming pool in case the weather wasn't great, which it wasn't. Unfortunately the indoor pool was freezing and cloudy when we visited. The jacuzzi was cold and the sauna was just barely warm but not hot, so we didn't enjoy this aspect of the hotel as we thought we would and only used it once. Another issue was that you can hear the guests in neighbouring rooms. This was an issue for us as the family next door were very noisy and had quarrels at 5am which woke us up twice. Nevertheless we had a lovely week in Alvor and the surrounding area, we just won't be returning to Pestana Alvor Park.

Prima onderhouden hotel met nette appartementen. Kamers worden iedere dag schoongemaakt. Ruime balkons. Livemuziek op woensdag- en zondagavond. Bar is de hele dag geopend. Diner is prima. Heeft ook een overdekt zwembad, sauna en jacuzzi.

Een mooi, comfortabel, luxe en schoon hotel met prachtige ruime appartementen. Goed uitgeruste keuken, ruime woonkamer, groot terras met de hele dag zon en heerlijke bedden. Zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Alle faciliteiten ook in januari operationeel: binnenzwembad, sauna, jacuzzi, restaurant en bar. Slechts 10 minuutjes lopen naar het gezellige, nóg authentieke dorpje Alvor met heerlijke restaurantjes. Zeer goede wifi. Echte aanrader!
