In Portugal, a service charge is not usually included in the bill at restaurants or cafes, and tipping is appreciated but not mandatory. While it's not expected, leaving a tip is a common way to show appreciation for good service. Generally, a tip of around 5% to 10% of the bill is considered a generous gesture. That is why we were sitting with our mouths open when the Bill at the Ocean Bar of Pestana Torralta had already a tip/gorjeta on it. Duuuuuhhhhh this is Portugal. Really disrespectful to the client who is willing to give a big tip 👎👎👎
