We stayed in May 2025 for 10 nights. Our transfer from Faro was great. We arrived approx 2pm and one of our rooms was ready which was great. The actual hotel is lovely, the entrance is beautiful and cool with AC. We liked the pool, the splash pool for kids was smaller than I expected to be honest but it was okay. Our son loved the park which is great and under a canopy to protect from the sun which was fab. The biggest downfall for this hotel is the food. The selection was awful. I found breakfast to be the best with great options available but lunch and dinner was awful. If it was red meat it was a stew and overcooked. Barely any chicken options throughout the week- I tended to eat veggie dishes as the red meat wasn't cooked well ever. We had to eat out a few times as we were sick of the repetitive and mediocre food. I read reviews of rude staff but only had one encounter with a male who questioned why my autistic son had to stay in his pushchair at the table- no one else asked but this man was very rude and looked at us as if we were lying (some disabilities are invisible 👍🏻) but we found most of the staff accommodating and friendly. The kids food selection was horrible too, stodgy spaghetti bolegnese most nights, overcooked chicken nuggets, strange pasta dishes with weird combinations of food. I loved the chocolate mousse, cakes and desserts. I also read some people saying staff at bar were rude, we were staying in May, so low season but I would go up and wait in a small queue and they'd allow me to order 4 drinks at once- not two at a time like mentioned, not suggesting that wasn't true just not what I experienced. We also had a medical emergency where my Dad had to attend hospital and when asking staff at reception what the procedure would be and options they were so unhelpful and unbothered it was actually jarring. It was like they had no idea what to tell me or hadn't been trained in this. I wasn't sure who to phone or what hospitals we could attend and they literally wouldn't help until I pulled up a map on my phoned and specifically asked. Overall it was a great stay but the food really needs work and staff need medical training.

If you are reading this having already booked, don't worry, you will have a nice time, just not the best time. - Jet 2 advertise this as a hotel with waterpark included. The water park is 15km away. This was probably stated in the advert but it's not something any of our party picked up until we arrived and were advised have to book a bus that takes you at 9:30am and brings you back at 4:30pm. - If you love to queue then this is the hotel for you. I probably spent 30% of my time queuing at pool side bar to get a drink. Only allowed 3 per order which if you have a family a four, bit of a pain. - Some staff are lovely, others were rude and seemed offended by your very presence of being at the hotel. - Kids club was fine for little ones. - Never had to fight for sun lounger which was nice, even going down later in the morning could still get 3-4 beds together. Not sure what this would be like come summer holidays though. - Lovely sized pool but it is FREEZING and doesn't seem to get any better the longer you stay in the blinking thing. - The shop in the hotel is served by lovely staff but it is tiny. Nowhere close by to buy alcoholic drinks for your room to have on balcony in evening. - No snack bar that actually allows you to eat your snacks by the pool. Should be a snack bar outside near the pool. - No staff coming by your sunbeds to see if you want any other drinks or provide a service. The completely brilliant bits: - The shuttle bus that runs every 30 mins or so from hotel to Alvor beach is a must. Alvor beach is beautiful and the sea feels warmer than the pool. - Rooms are a good size and a fab bath. - Lush sized balcony. - Breakfast, lunch and tea also run for a good few hours each so never have to rush for food. - No sunbed chasing in the morning - I personally felt the night time entertainment was good - Get the uber app if you haven't. It's brilliant and never had to wait more than 2 minutes to be picked up from hotel to be taken where we wanted to go. The absolute worst bits - No outdoor snack bar - Severe lack of ice creams haha - Some of the staff were just pain rude. - No bottled water readily available or in rooms - Faro airport is a nightmare and we won't be going back until they have sorted out passport control - Long delays. - Nothing close by to hotel in a walking distance - Waterpark not being as close as led to believe. - Queuing central. Queue for a drink, Queue for food, even had to queue for a lift lol. Again if you have already booked and you are now looking at what to expect, I genuinely think you will have a nice time and it is a fine hotel. Would I spend my hard earnt to go back again? Nope. I didn't love the hotel and wouldn't pay to return again, I would look elsewhere.

We have just returned from a 7 night stay at the RR Alvor Baia resort and we are already planning our return. Every member of staff was absolutely brilliant and so accommodating. By the end of the week staff had remembered names, favourite ice cream flavour for my daughter and our usual drink order which just made the holiday even better. The hotel was impeccably clean everywhere at all times. Food was varied and all delicious. The entertainment was constant but not overwhelming which was lovely. The rooms are looking slightly tired but nothing that would detract from having a wonderful holiday.

Immense hôtel, avec une immense piscine et suffisamment de chaises pour tout le monde, enfin au mois de juin 😉 Si vous cherchez le calme, ce n’est pas dans cet hôtel que vous allez le trouver. Si vous avez une chambre donnant sur la piscine, c’est très bruyant, heureusement que j’avais pris des boules quies. Les chambres sont correctes, la literie un peu ferme. C’est propre. C’est dommage qu’il n’y ait que du gel douche et shampoing, il aurait été appréciable d’avoir de l’après shampooing et une petite bouteille de crème pour le corps. Pas de kit comme on peut voir dans des hôtels 4* et même 3*. Simplement un bonnet de douche! Oubliez les savates de chambre également. Il y a une petite cuisine avec micro ondes et plaque mais absence d’une machine à café, dommage car possible de le déguster dans cet immense balcon qui est avec la chambre prestige. Les repas sont simples mais variés et c’était bon. Le service est excellent 👌 Une mention spéciale pour eux, aussi bien au bar de la plage, bar à l’intérieur et aux restaurants. Grand parking à l’intérieur pour y garer les voitures. Coffre fort payant, 1,5€ par jour, je trouve ça limite en 2025. J’ai l’habitude de voyager, c’est très rare que les coffres fort soient payants ! Si vous voulez une serviette de piscine, une caution de 20€ vous sera demandé. Vous payez à la réception, puis faut aller la chercher au spa. Pareil, la restituer au spa et elle vous donne le papier afin que vous puissiez être remboursé de votre caution. Dommage que ces informations je ne les aient pas reçu directement de la part de la réception, à notre arrivée, c’est un gentil animateur, au bord de la piscine qui me l’a expliqué.

Worst hotel. No medical or first aid on sight. Incident happened with a child and we got given ice in a paper tea towel and that's all they had. We got physically and verbally abused by the restaurant staff. The rooms wasn't as clean as they should be. Very disgusting rude behaviour by the whole staff in team. The only welcoming staff was the lady who worked in the shop. Too many guests per one bar, two staff at only said bar and allowed three drinks per guest, being a large family with a lot of young children was not okay! I would definitely never ever stay here again! I've never experienced stuff so rude than I have at this hotel.
