I wish I’d read the reviews before we booked. I don’t know how anyone can give this place an excellent review, it’s the worst Premier Inn we’ve ever stayed in. Generally uncared for and grubby. The bathroom was awful. Rust, dirty grouting and a horribly grubby shower curtain. The bin was rusty and dirty too. Ant killer in the corner of the room. Good job we didn’t have young children with us! The breakfast fruit salad looked days old, discoloured fruit with dried up edges, no crumpets or pancakes. Never again!

My first impression on seeing the outside wasn't great but as soon as I walked through the door I was impressed. The receptionist was so friendly, helpful and polite. There is a vending machine in the reception area with drinks and snacks and also a place to pick up extra milk, tea and coffee for your room. The corridors were clean and spacious and wow, when I entered my room I was amazed at it's size and it had a balcony overlooking a playing field, which I've never had before. I could hear traffic as I had my window open all night but it was very indistinct. There was a good hairdryer in the room and the shower was good, warm and good flow. Overall this was a great Premier Inn to stay at and the pub next door, the Ship Inn (Chef and Brewer) was excellent as well.

Peaceful location easy to find flawless checkin. Reception friendly and helpful. Room eadh to find. Room clean and tidy well stocked hot drinks. Bathroom clean. Bed very comfortable. Great night's sleep ready for onward drive to the South West.

The managers Kelly and Tracey is very friendly and very helpful. Receptionists and housekeepers are very friendly. Room is very clean and bed is super comfortable. Good night sleep. Breakfast is nice a wide variety to choose from. Plenty of parking.

If it wasn't so close to an evening event with family, I'd have looked elsewhere. The bathroom is minute, and any average sized person will have a problem. The addition of the restaurant for breakfast was a nice change, but it's an order only weekend instead of a buffet. And free parking at this Premier Inn.

As others have said, the building is a bit tired and old BUT our room was spotless, had a great shower, absolutely quiet overnight and slept perfectly. Plus the lady on the desk was lovely and really helpful. Very happy to come and stay here again. Recommended if you want to break your journey when heading west.
