Tenir Eco Hotel, Shymbulak Mountain Resort

We had great time at Tenir Eco. At first, im a bit worried as im unsure how to go up and bring luggages direct from airport since we arrived direct from istanbul trip. But actually its quite easy. The hotel arranged to bring luggages up to hotel with payment of 5000 tenge(from shymbulak station to hotel reception). U have a choice to bring it yourslef but mind you that it is quite slippery from combi 2 to reception. So if u want to enjoy the moment just ask the hotel to bring the luggage for u. The hotel will give QR code for cable car ride from Medeu station to combi 1-combi 2 and back down. If u want more can ask them to buy for you. Around 4000 tenge. The hospitality is amazing , they provided all the necessity. And fast action too. They fixed the netflix so we could enjoy our 2nights stay. And although -12celcius was a challenge but the room got quite nice heat ‘ and u can always heat urself in the bathroom sauna, even the floor was heated. So we never feel tortured with the weather. Bring some food for dinner if u dont want to spend time going down too much. And u can heat it in sauna as well🙈. Host (ingkar) was a very nice person. He gave us two nice cheesecakes since netflix took time to be fixed. We stayed in Room Tenir 10 which was the last end room with nice romantic vibe and view. There’s night skiing and the skiers sometimes stop and wave to us while we watch them pass by. We also hike to nearby mountain and enjoy the scenery. It is super cold during winter and like a dream come true stay for us. As per going back you can request them to bring down luggage as well with same 5000 tenge tilk symbulak station. The food at syn32 also yummy n good. Go try the blueberry mint tea with mountain view. Its amazing. U can ski in ski out from the room itself. Sunset is perfect as well. I will return again in future. Perfect stay in Shymbulak 3200m…. Never regret it. And may try the paragliding as well. Looks fun too!

The actual hotel room was nice, however the inside sauna was ok, it did not heat up to the temperature we expected given the cold weather conditions. The footpaths were uncomfortable when walking up and down. Rubbish was left in eyesight that made photographs and atmosphere not as pretty from Tenir hotels social media platforms we saw before arrival. When booking the hotel we were happy to see we receive a 5% discount at the 2 restaurants however, only 1 restaurant was working. The other one had closed completely leaving us with a small menu for both lunch and dinner - this was just annoying! Also at one point the discount was 5% and the next time it was 10%. The discount was not clear at all. The employees at the restaurant were not aware of the discount the hotel offered customers so it was awkward when asking for the bill and discount, especially with the language barrier. Additionally, we had booked and paid before hand for activities which were not explained by the staff at arrival. Employees were very keen on charging is money even though we had paid. Plus, breakfast times were unclear and not explained by staff. Overall, paying over £400 for a night plus 2 activities I will say it was not worth the stay. Only for the reason my partner had planned this surprise for me, I was able to enjoy my visit.
