I would happily recommend the two day trip, on the second we left the busy waterways and explored quieter areas with fabulous birdlife, duck farms, rice harvest and locals going about their daily lives. Our crew on the Periyar were all very friendly and looked after us very well: Captain Seeboy, Dutton the engineer, and Chef Mahesh. In our month in India across many fine hotels and restaurants I can honestly say that Mahesh's cooking is the finest we have tasted, congratulations!
