I stayed at Villa Plantaget in Alingsås, Sweden while visiting family. It is a lovely place -- technically a hostle, but oh, so much more! It’s situated in or right next to the city’s Plantaget Park, just off the city center. The historic building is charming and very homey. There are private rooms— some have a private bath and others have a shared toilet and shower. The rooms and public areas are immaculate. There’s a community kitchen and livingroom area. One of the most unique aspects though, is that it also features a café that’s open to the public! I didn’t realize that when I booked my reservation, and I was so pleasantly surprised! The pastries are locally sourced and very delicious. The café also serves meals, beer, and wine. The meals are personally prepared by one of the hosts. In summer and fall, there’s outdoor seating and a barbecue, even! For anyone traveling to Alingsås, I highly recommend Villa Plantaget. I’ll definitely be back!
