On arrival we waited in reception for 20 minutes to check in, as there was only one person on reception. This has not changed during our stay. We booked via Jet2 and this hotel obviously have a lower interest in Jet2 guests. We booked half board as it is early in the season and can be cold in the evenings so decided to eat at the hotel restaurant… This was our major issue. First night we selected pork chops from a very basic menu, this turned out to be cold tough sliced pork. On the second night we chose chicken breast, What arrived was, dried pork chops, when questioned we were told that it was “Spanish Chicken” Third night, the majority of diners chose lamb chops. These were totally inedible and everyone that had ordered lamb chops sent them back. No alternative was offered or available. However other dinners(special guests) were eating steaks that we had not been offered on our half board menu. Finally our last evening, our wedding anniversary. We had been asked to dine an hour earlier? Expecting something better?? Absolutely not! We were seated in the bar while a private function was hosted in the restaurant. This is absolutely unacceptable and I will escalate with Jet2 and Melia Hotels. We have been made to feel like we were second class guests here.
