Les Deux Marguerite

Belle maison de maitre rénovée avec goût, très bien située au coeur de la ville. La chambre sur le jardin est grande et agréable, avec une sdb bien équipée et agréable. Adresse à conserver. Un seul bémol sur le petit déjeuner qui pourrait présenter un peu plus de choix dans les produits proposés, au vu du prix de la nuitée mais c'était un agréable we, chez un hôte agréable et disponible.

An unreserved recommendation - one of those places that feels like a hidden secret that you'd like to keep to yourself, but the owner, Stéphane Guy, deserves every success and so we want to share this wonderful place. A cancelled ferry from Dieppe meant an unexpected stop in France, and we found ourselves in Alencon where it was a choice between a typical anonymous chain hotel or, for a few euros more, this guest house in a charming 19th century maison de maitre. Stéphane has done a fantastic job refurbishing and decorating it, including a wonderful collection of paintings by artists with a local collection in the common areas. The rooms are impeccable, and Stéphane, apart from being a warm and gracious host who prepares a great breakfast and a really nice person to talk to, is a mine of information on the town itself, with some great recommendations for restaurants. Alençon is an elegant town with much to recommend it - we'll definitely be back and will be sure to stay at Les Deux Marguérite when we do.

A magnificent property with fantastic hosts ! We stayed for 2 nights and from the outset we were greeted and looked after just as if we were their friends.  This is a beautifully refurbished property, which has been tastefully updated, whilst still retaining the full character of a very old building. Our bedroom and bathroom fittings were of a very high standard, the bed was large and comfortable, and the room had lovely views towards the picturesque town. The owners also showed us around the other rooms, which were equally well refurbished to the same very high standard, and they also had great views of the old walled town. Breakfast was also very good  with attentive friendly service, and a choice of fresh fruit, breads, croissant, and selection of  cheese, plus eggs cooked to order.  The location is very quiet,  and yet just a 5 minute walk to a wide variety of shops and a great selection of restaurants as well as a great opportunity to explore the historic town and buildings of Alencon . We loved our stay !

Tout est parfait. Accueil chaleureux. Très belle bâtisse en centre ville. Très calme. Très beau jardin. Chambre très joliment décorée avec la climatisation Salle de bains spacieuse. Petit déjeuner copieux. Très belle halte pour visiter la ville et sa région. Je recommande !!!!

Maison d’hôtes de charme voire de luxe. La maison, ancienne, a été complètement re-décorée en respectant l’esprit du lieu. Les finitions sont haut de gamme. Tout est raffiné ! L’accueil quant à lui est parfait : on se sent presque “attendus”. Petit-déjeuner délicieux, copieux et avec des produits de Normandie. Le petit plus que nous avons beaucoup apprécié : l’apéritif est offert le soir au salon. Ça donne envie de s’installer et de profiter de cette merveilleuse pièce. Dernier point….super rapport qualité / prix !

A beautifully restored boutique hotel/guesthouse in the centre of Alencon. This is a real find, secluded but in the centre of the small city. Loving restored, the bedrooms and bathrooms are luxurious with views over the garden and chateau close by. Excellent breakfast with plenty of restaurants close-by.
