Hotel do Cerro

Stayed over the Easter period. Very friendly reseption lady on arrival. Lovely interior to the hotel. Room more than addiquet for 2 people. Liked the firm bed & pillows. Cleaned every day. I knew about the kettle situation before going and took my own travel kettle, which I have had to do on a couple of occasions,in other countries and hotels. Its not a "deal breaker" Breakfast I like the tick box system & there is less waste, the staff were super friendly and very busy and attentive. Unfortunately yes the toast was the worst item, always cold and hard, so be honest they may as well not serve it. but I am happy with lovely bread rolls. Pool nice, if a little cold in April. 😂 Pool bar food lovely. Drinks in the bar was nice in the evening and Pedro and his lady buddy were fun. Plenty of help at reception if needed from what I could see. Walk into town was fine, yes a little steep in parts, if your not used to hills. Albufeira has change alot in the 25+years I have since been,probably not for the better. The bottom half of the town was full of stag & hen. parties & unfortunately I know we all have them in our towns, homeless/alcoholic's in the square, quite a few begging. We had some very good meals and then tended to return by 10pm,we are not people who go out drinking. I guess there is some thing for everyone and once you get to know, when and where to go it's lovely. I would definitely return to this hotel now we know the "in's & out's" of the town.

Absolutely fabulous hotel we will be back for sure. The staff are super friendly, fantastic architecture and the whole place is very clean. We enjoyed the breakfast and found the tick to order system easy to use. Breakfast had slight variations every morning. 5 minute walk down the hill and you will be in the old town, walking back is up hill but it’s in a nice area just out of the town which we liked. We didn’t see a single child at the hotel during our stay which suited our kid free break. The rooms are very nicely kept and I found the night went by without disturbance from the rooms around us so sound proofing was good.

First of all the positives. Nice friendly helpful staff. Clean hotel. Nice evening meals. Good evening bar area with sky sport. Comfy pillows Sea view Negatives. Bed really hard Had to pay extra for kettle euro a day. No tea or coffee provided. Only one lot of toiletries given eg. Tiny shower gel Breakfast made to order but basic would prefer buffer style Would say hotel is more a 3 star than 4 Our room wasn't clean until 3.45 pm each day There is a big long list of rules to follow.

This is a very clean hotel with very friendly staff. Despite telling you on arrival the towels would only be changed mid week, they were actually changed every other day. Breakfast is organised by ticking what you want on a slip of paper each morning, I think most people would prefer to help themselves in a buffet which would be quicker. The main problem is lack of signage- everyone gets lost! No sign for the dining/ breakfast room and no sign for the indoor swimming pool( access is actually in the dining room which you wouldn’t expect!) The walk from Albufeira is quite a climb and many of the roads and footpaths are currently under repair so rubble is everywhere. This would stop us returning to this hotel.

Booked a late getaway here beginning of April, the hotel is great staff are really friendly and everything is spotless, rooms comfortable and spacious, pool area kept clean and chilled, breakfast system of table service works great and the staff work so hard to ensure you enjoy the break with a smile to go with the service. Yes the hotel is uphill when walking back from the old town but so are most in Albufeira due to how the resort is placed, we were really lucky with the weather whilst there and when it did rain you just had to sit in a bar have lunch and a drink and watch the world go by which was never a chore. Would return again without hesitation,.

We stay for week at the end of March and really enjoyed our stay. The room was spotlessly clean and well maintained and cleaning throughout the week was great. We loved the breakfast! The tick box system worked very well. I prefered this to buffet style as there's much less food waste and food is hot. The quality was excellent and efficiently served. The staff on breakfasts were so friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Other staff in the hotel were friendly and helpful too. We didn't use the pool as we prefer to be out exploring or on the beach but from what we could see, the pool area was a good size with plenty of sunbeds. The high location of the hotel meant we had a lovely view down to the sea. It is on hill but so is most of the old town. There are many routes down and it takes 5 minutes or so to get to the beach front lift. Overall we really rated this friendly hotel and the staff highly and would certainly stay there again on our next visit. We loved this area of the Algarve.
